Walsall match (1 Viewer)

I was glad to read in the CET that Robins is trying to keep the players focused on the football. With that in mind, I'm going to predict a 2-0 win tomorrow. PUSB!

Robins said: “I have spoken to the players but about the game because this is the only issue that can detract from what we do and it’s an issue we have no control over.

"Hence the reason I won’t be getting involved and will let the people who can do something about it get on with it...

“You can’t control it and you don’t know what the outcome is going to be, so let’s just focus on what we can control which is our training and performances.

"We’re here to play football matches and that’s all we can focus on."

A win would be good to stop the next set of teams up the table getting away, a little bit of a gap has opened up which needs closing so we can continue our march up the table.

In Robins we trust!

I wonder if they will run out of Bovril AGAIN??
Will any apple sauce be available for my pork batch??
Will Wallsall grab a late equlaiser ??

The more hysterical types may say this is the penultimate game for CCFC at the Ricoh in its current ownership relationship. Be nice to see a good turnout !!............................... I'll be going back next June though to see the real 'Boss' perform in Coventry.

Bagington - there is a small gap between us and the cluster of clubs above us, and we do need to close it over two or possibly three games.

However, looking at it from a different angle, that gap has actually been reducing for a few weeks now - if you consider how many points we were behind clubs that occupied those positions in October, we were far more than 3/4/5 points behind! What has changed is our relativet position, and the closeness of the club immediately above us, as we have overtaken them all in turn.

As we get near to, or even into, the top half, we start to compete with teams that win as much as they lose, so the rate of catching up becomes slower, and it becomes even more important for us to win our home games as well as our away matches. If we keep going, we must ignore the immediate position, and look at how many clubs above us that we have gained points on, because they can't all win

Walsall's form has picked up a bit in recent weeks and although I hate to say it I reckon it will be yet another home draw. Hopefully the boys can prove me wrong and give em a right spanking.

Thought they was on a 4 game winless streak?

As far as I can see they haven't won in 14 games? They're last 3 games have been draws. Two of those games were with Tranmere and Crawley but then the other was with Hartlepool. Don't know if that constitutes a pick up in form or not?!

In the last 5 Home and away they have H-lost 3 drew 2 A-drew 4 lost 1, that does include draws at Lincoln and Bury though. So i would say they are struggling we are flying.............think i can see where this is going lol

ahhhh ! football i remember that !

3 - nil win i reckon .......... no disrespect to Walsall but we need to keep pushing on and i cant see MR letting the players slack.

Hope the lads put on a good display so we can forget some of the other crap. Hope players not distracted by off field matters.

I assume that all stands will be open because of the season ticket holders wanting their seats.

Im thinking 2-0 or 3-0 tomorrow and will have a little wager at the game me thinks. Shame we dropped some points as we cannot move much in the league with a win tomorrow but a wins a win and it takes us closer to the promised land. Its easy to be posiitve of what we get on the field at the moment.

You will probably have to walk to the bus station which is about 15 mins away or get a bus outside the train station to the bus station first if you don't want to walk, from the bus station you can get a bus which goes straight to the stadium. I don't think there is a bus directly from the train station to the stadium but I may be wrong

EDIT: Nevermind according to above post there is a bus straight to the stadium

This will be a good indication of MR' s managerial and motivational skills - to focus the players on football matters, and keep the run going. Forget off the field activities, prove yourselves to the fans, the rest will take care of itself......

Alright Crouchy.

There is direct buses called the 'football bus' from the station to the Ricoh. I think its about 3-4 quid return.

After the game there is plenty to get straight back on safely from pretty much outside Ricoh.

Hope im wrong, but I think all of this weeks ACL v SISU public squabbling
will be getting to some players, and I bet DM has already made his mind up to get out of here when his loan contract ends. Todays game is going to be hard work Mr Robins will need to get the squad focused , so let's all help him and make some noise

I think most clubs are financially in the brown stuff. In my opinion it is all brinkmanship and power games! What annoys me the most is we are just looking good and anyone just thinking about giving us a go will think there is no point

Conjure up the image of Andy Whing arms out running past all those sky blue supporters arms. A iconic photo.

Fast forward to now and the final goal at the Ricoh and Carl Baker runs past a bank of sky blue seats and accidently clips a lone 82 year old suffering from hypothermia.

Looking forward to the game today. Walsall on a 15 match winless streak, and we are on the up. 3-0 city. Not looking forward to the weather though, bloody cold!
