Wasps downward spiral... (8 Viewers)

I would rather drink my dead nans bathwater while being gang raped by 16 well endowed nigerians

Nothing but scum any of them that arent from London. Anyone from a CV postcode that follows them are grouped with Nonses in my eyes

And irrelevant about TV, you forget your shit club tweets pictures of the place for everygame, or someone on social media uploads a pic. Place is empty, stop lying to yourselves

im glad I’m in your good books then… I’ve followed Wasps since they were amateur ! …… why shouldn’t someone from the Midlands who enjoys rugby be able to go and watch Wasps .. what’s the big deal ?

And that sums it up in a nutshell, you don't care what affect this nonsense has had on the local area especially the already established rugby team

The issue is though rugby is a fairly limited sport for financial backing of that magnitude - it doesn’t have global brand appeal

As I said for many reasons people bank roll Business it’s nothing to do with global brands. For some it’s like a toy spending pocket change. Although clearly not the case with Richardson.

what effect has this had in the local area outside of your little world. ?

I speak to many people who come to watch Wasps from many parts of the midlands and beyond and who’ve never been near Cov Rugby. Are you suggesting that anyone who watches Wasps should be attending Cov Rugby instead ?

If they are from Coventry absolutely

You support your local team, wasps never have and never will be a local team

Do they all arrive in the same minibus 'cause the Arena is next to empty.

The local area? Well they’ve displaced the local football team, took advantage of a situation they had no business being involved with. Flooded the local schools with free tickets - taking away from the local rugby team.

reneged on a promise to regenerate the north east.

no they don’t have to support Coventry rugby, but I’m sure there’s Birmingham rugby teams they can support, or other local midlands teams like Leicester or Northampton.

wasps are worse than MK Dons, at least they went to a town with no football team

Same old echo chamber on here 😂…… you’ve all been banging the same drum for 8 years ….. whether it’s 8 or 8,000 Wasps are here for now like it or not ….. maybe not forever but who knows

Well there’s plenty of established top flight clubs already in the region-depending on how broadly you define what counts there’s Gloucester, Worcester, Northampton and Lesta. If you wanted it, it was already there in abundance.

Nobody objects to you going to watch the egg chasing. They’d just rather it have been somewhere else all along.

It’s not for me …. Like I said I’ve followed Wasps for donkeys years since both Wasps and I were in west London. I get what you say though but at the end of the day people choose where they go and watch sport. Much as they do with football.

Great to see so many are using CBS Arena. 👍

On a serious note it just illustrates that in any sport there are thousands of ‘good time’ supporters ….. when you are doing well you have thousands more

I guess someone’s got to use it….Sadly for Wasps, your ‘good time’ supporters were only have a good time as long as the tickets were free. The true level of your support is dismal.

From a business perspective doesn’t really matter who uses it.

Not sure I agree that Wasps good time supporters were only there because of free tickets. Of course there were free tickets but Wasps have reached 2 premiership finals and Other top tier games since they have been in Cov …. That surely swelled numbers much the same as CCFC gates have swelled because of the great resurgence of the team. You can’t use the argument both ways.

Erm handing out bucketloads of free tickets obviously inflates the numbers. Nobody on this forum wants Wasps here-it’s not personal against you but surely you knew that when you signed up?

The 8k came from one of your own mates …. Not me ….. reality is, like I said whether it’s 8 or 8000 Wasps are there !

The crowd argument is irrelevant and I’d assume you have to have an accurate measure of tickets sold for customs and excise

The business itself is the issue. It’s failed miserably on its objectives, the bond scheme has failed and crucially it’s treated bond holders who’ve funded the business poorly

Eastwood is born from the same slime and spin gene pool as fisher and Vaughan talks the same game.

The ultimate irony is the behaviour is no better than the football club owners.

At some point if indeed it is happening now it would be an answer for what is happening - the main business will be separated or sold from the rugby club.

Personally I don’t really care if it’s against me, I’m actually shocked I haven’t been banned from posting, but I guess there is time. I get it that nobody on this thread wants Wasps in Cov, but like it or not there are also a lot of people that don’t really care. Reality is Wasps are there and quite possibly will be for years to come, how the business pans out remains to be seen but my guess is that Wasps won’t go far for many many years.

Yes of course free tickets inflate numbers but so do paying customers ….. how many were free and how many paid neither you or I know. Everyone on here wants to believe that the stadium was full of freebies but I doubt that’s the case.

Again there is a difference between wanting something to happen and expecting it to.

If you are losing £10m a year and have debt of £65m I can assure you that you won’t be here for many years. Your on the verge of liquidation and still spending money like it’s going out of fashion.

I think you need to look at the situation a little deeper perhaps as Grendel does ….. I have no doubt the business will be restructured, one way or another my own view is that Wasps as a rugby club playing in Cov won’t go far.

But surely as a fan of wasps you must be pissed off as this move seems to have caused more harm than good to the club as they are doing worse results (and attendance) wise now then when you played in Wycombe and also in a hell of a lot more debt than before

This is the reason why the cov press is so quiet about it, they backed wasps ahead of the local football and rugby clubs and it's all gone to shit

I’m not happy with the business situation and that has to change. I wouldn’t say we are worse than Wycombe, Wasps were close to relegation and extinction as a business and we’re going nowhere at Wycombe. It’s nothing to do with the business that on field results haven’t gone well, there are lots of factors in that and that is the nature of sport. Tigers were a bottom table team last year, finalists this year ….. that’s sport.

The correlation with on field results and attendance doesn’t really exist in rugby - wasps were finalists last year but attendances remain low and decreasing

Well you were near the bottom thus season and if the finances continue the way they are going you aren't that far away from extinction now so basically up rooted to stay in the same position, cracking work
