Politics midlands just talking about should public money bail out wasps rugby wow
Currently on twitter - EVERY reply from Simon and BBC Midlands tweets have said NO.... even including non CCFC fans!
will have to catch up on iplayer but good that it wasn't just a story on CWR that then disappeared.

Street likes to think he's good at the PR game, he won't want to be seen as fronting something like this. Especially when it has the potential to backfire badly before the next election with either Wasps still in financial trouble or asking for more money.

She's my MP, might fire off an email to ask how exactly she thinks the arena would cease to function if Wasps aren't handed more public money.
Think her words were along the lines of, if it gives Wasps and CCFC fans a chance to continue to go to support their clubs, then yes.
Caveat - worth re-watching to confirm! Dosed up on all sorts of meds after hip replacement!! I'm quite drowsy at times!

I could have told you that would probably happen before I had even seen that clip sadly. She is a total joke.

To even entertain the idea that Wasps get a bailout is another joke that should and will be met with all kind of resistance. The council and members of parliament are a stain on the city and have been for too long. To even contemplate this just shows how moronic they are at best, and corrupt they are at worst. In all likelihood a blend of the two.

Like the journalists will be held to account for refusing to cover this (kudos now to Simon Gilbert who has done the right thing), these members of council and parliament will also not been forgotten for their roles in this complete shit show. We are watching...

To be fair, if there's a good argument to give them the money then I think most people would support it.
I just don't see any scenario where there is a good argument which makes it worthwhile diverting funds from other causes.
And any way you look at it, this money will go towards wasps paying their bond holders, even if it does so indirectly.

Well, that is partly the point isn't it? There are no good arguments. Anyone with half a brain can take two minutes to look into the situation and see the alarm bells going off everywhere. To ignore them would be one of moronic or corrupt.

Memory is getting fuzzy. But when CCC "bailed out" ACL(2003??) they took 50% of the shares? The value of that bail out?
We didn't get something for nothing. Look at the grief that caused further down the line

Having looked at the responses to this story on social media one thing we can say for certain is that rugby supporters are, by and large, absolute wankers!

Easy mate, that's like someone saying all football fans are coke-fuelled arseholes based on the behaviour of a few of them.

Some of us here support both the Coventry footy and the Coventry rugby club. Most of the fans I've met at either venue are decent enough people.

2bh I like Sultana, I think she’s played it well. She’s only said if there’s a good argument for it, then it’s worthwhile

doesn’t mean there is actually a good argument. If anything it’s a standard politicians answer

Just had a message a short while ago that wasps are to go into administration on the 30th June. Anyone else heard this reliably or is it just rumours?
