This "Christmas Cracker" has traditionally been a sell out, or there abouts...
Would be great if they only get 22/23k.... fingers crossed!!
(Obviously we know that many tickets will have been given away too)

Word has it there's 1,000 bonds in each free cracker

Hopefully they get battered in their Christmas crack up with laughter or whatever they call it to further discourage the locals from going back

Odd rumour via some Exeter fans at work. Apparently the club currently top, Newcastle, is the club they want in the Premiership before they shut off promotion and relegation. That presents the problem that one of Wasps or Leicester seem likely candidates for relegation.

Seems both clubs have owners who are open to selling up, not the first time I've heard that about Wasps but no idea what the situation is at Leicester. The rumour is that should one of the clubs get relegated they merge and therefore retain Premiership status.

Now we all know how weird rumours that start on here end up in the Telegraph so there could be absolutely nothing to it but its something new so figured it was worth posting.

If it was to happen you'd end up with one club with two grounds. You could suggest that one of those grounds has a potential purchaser ready and waiting.

Saw this on twitter earlier, obviously have as much knowledge as you as to whether its true or not, jut seems a bit far fetched for me. If they were to merge two clubs I'd suggest its more likely to be Wasps and Irish and play in Brentford or even Birmingham.

Would imagine the staunch fan base of Leicester would be in uproar over a merger like that due to what would essentially be one bad season. They've only played 5 games, Id suggest that starting talks merging the 2 worst teams over 5 games is pretty wide of the mark. Starting talks over two of the least commercially viable clubs is probably more likely. I do think that there is probably a market for a team based in south Birmingham as to still attract the mouth breathers of Warwickshire and an untapped market in Birmingham, say in a newly refurbed athletics stadium....

As much as it completely kills competition in the Championship, a ring fenced Premiership 12 does make sense and they would need a way of fitting 13 in12.

Could be a case that the idea is out there but the specifics are off. You'd have to think if it is being discussed in any meaningful way Wasps have to be a candidate given they're already shown they are willing to move halfway across the country. You could move them again with little resistance.

Why wouldn't they just expand it to 13?

Please, please let them be relegated - it will kill them financially.

Does anybody know the attendance from the home game v Edinburgh?

Tigers have been up for sale for some months (60 mil being bandied around which is something of a bargain given their property assets and heritage).
Can't see anything in it though, personally.
I live a few doors down from Peter Tom's (Tigers' main shareholder until recently) daughter. Might slip her a few sweet sherries and see what I can glean ;)

Was a bit worried about what you were intending to slip his daughter for a minute!

Their A team conceded 75 points tonight away at Northampton I think
They lost 75-21 to Worcester in the Premiership Shield, the competition for 2nd XV sides. Can't even be bothered to put a side out for that!

As for the end to relegation/promotion, while the current Prem clubs may want Newcastle back in the fold, I doubt very much that they would want a club with the history and potential draw of Leicester or Wasps (no matter what we think of them) to be out permanently. I'd say they'd wait until a "little" side like Worcester or Irish were nailed-on for relegation before making the decision.
Be fookin' funny though, wouldn't it??!

If wasps avoid relegation this season I’ll give them two years before administration. I’m not the only one with this thought as the wasps ‘fan’s’ even believe that disaster is around the corner.

this Richardson chap is certainly droving his ship towards an ice berg.

Wasn't this weekend supposed to be their big Christmas sell out game? Just seen this conversation on my Facebook page.
Person A: 10 free tickets to the wasps game tomorrow if anyone is interested
Person B: Are they giving them away? I had 10 last week
Person C: I have another 5 if anyone wants them
Person D: I’ve already got free tickets
Person E: I’ve got free corporate lounge passes
Does anyone actually pay?

Interesting as they are still be sold with discount on Groupon.

Also that tweet would mean they "sold" less then 2500 in since last week.

Just had a look on their forum to see if there was any response to the piece on Midlands Today, or the negative responses to the tweet from the presenter and in the telegraph. Not a mention.

Did however see a post that every season ticket holder has been emailed offering them 20 additional free tickets for every game this season for each season ticket they have. One chap has 4 season tickets and has already got 80 free tickets for a game!!!
