I had a quick look on twitter the other day. Majority of people moaning the down have the fan village and other entertainment anymore. Almost like that is more important than what's going on, on the pitch.
Onceawasp still don’t get it. We still dislike our owners, we protested to get them to keep us in Coventry - something they have now done, if an opportunity for better owners comes about then I’m sure we’ll all get behind it, and yeah they did boot us out.
also the fickleness comment got me… this coming from a team who’s lost thousands of fans because let’s face it, they’re shit
They are probably ex city fans that their their colours to the wasps mast and die to the deserved vitriol they received can’t see anything but wasps being the good guysOnceawasp still don’t get it. Just three days before Wasps and Gloucester served up a nine-try, 68-point thriller, Coventry City were held to a goalless draw by local rivals Birmingham City at the same venue before 22,676 spectators.
It's interesting that the telegraph narrative is shifting.
Either the PR budget is drying up or they're preparing the ground for something.
fixedthe council look ridiculous
Funny ain’t it…There is now a bit of a negative feedback on the forums as well. Some saying Coventry is too far and they won’t be going back - the council have invested a lot into this project and are going to look ridiculous if it fails

People aren't going because of a small marketing team?
Maybe they don't have a marketing team to pretend anybody gives a shit.
Something has obviously happened in the background. They stopped giving them wall to wall coverage when all the adverting stopped but now they've gone from just not really bothering about them much to daily articles about how shit things are. It's interesting that the telegraph narrative is shifting.

The funny thing is I think the latter two reasons listed probably would be a factor if you're not a die hard Wasps fan and are pondering whether to go up to a game or not, which is exactly their problem.
They still don't have a hardcore/loyal fan base established in the city who are going to turn up week in week out regardless of any of these issues whereas Coventry City does
Our colleague Bobby Bridge wrote an excellent piece delving into the reasons behind the rugby team's low attendances in recent times, ranging from Covid-19 and a very small marketing team to freezing cold conditions and injuries to big name players.
Strange none of these factors seem to have impacted our games?
What ever happened to the office rental that was going to be a mega deal and the Telegraph ran stores saying major tenant coming soon.
The council has gradually distanced itself from it over the last few yearsThere is now a bit of a negative feedback on the forums as well. Some saying Coventry is too far and they won’t be going back - the council have invested a lot into this project and are going to look ridiculous if it fails
Yes, trying to model yourself on a game that is significantly more popular and rooted in the communities was always going to failAlso with the threat of relegation gone their season is already over and it's barely just begun.
The people running rugby are just so shit at it.
Yes very quiet lately, probably hate it we're doing so well! The council has gradually distanced itself from it over the last few years
They must have the same person working on that who is working on building the hotel that had to be rushed through planning so it was ready for city of culture. What ever happened to the office rental that was going to be a mega deal and the Telegraph ran stores saying major tenant coming soon.
What is the relationship between the Telegraph and the Council??It's interesting that the telegraph narrative is shifting.

This from 6 and a half years ago.
Interesting the people defending it.
Papering the crowd?
Know there has been a lot of talk about Wasps giving away an awful lot of free tickets, but generally to schools, sponsors etc. Just had weekly email from Ticketmaster, and offering TWO FREE tickets for the supposedly massive game in Premier Rugby terms on Sunday for Wasps v Saracens. All...www.skybluestalk.co.uk
I would love for Wasps, and everyone else in any sport for that matter, to have to report attendances as actual attendance (not counting season ticket holders who haven't shown up), paid attendance and ticket revenue.

I hate the bollox of all good on one side all bad on the other. It’s infantile and childishIt's interesting that the telegraph narrative is shifting.
