Bobby Bridge back from his weekend jaunt but still totally ignoring Wasps financial plight

Just imagine if it is was us doing this, the telegraph would be all over it (of course turner would be getting all his info from here)

The local press' whole handling of wasps from day one has been an utter disgrace and I hope once it all goes tits up they will held accountable for all the nonsense they have helped with

If this was us, even just the late filing accounts part, it would be in the CT and on CWR. The likes of Gilbert would be all over it. If we'd failed to pay a £35m loan back on time it would be front page news and the leading headline on every news bulletin. Not to mention there would be a huge thread on here about our imminent demise.

The silence is deafening along with a complete head in the sand attitude from their supporters. Not saying they're imminently going out of business, sadly that's unlikely to say the least, but having to pay the bond back isn't something that's come out of nowhere, the fact there is zero sign of it being paid should worry anyone with an interest in the club.

It'll never happen unfortunately but i'd love it if we blocked access to the club from the local press as they have basically done feck all to help us during our darkest times, their reaction when wasps don't have anything to do with Coventry anymore is going to be hilarious

Spoke to somebody significant last night who told me they expected wasps to look to sell back to the council 🤷‍♂️ , can't say who it was , but I'm assuming it's a non starter right?

Why would the council want to buy it unless it meant looking after the future of CCFC, Derby Council have been looking at something similar with Pride Park

No idea , I'm not clued up , I just raised my eyebrows said " oh right " and carried on doing what I was doing

The lease seems in all probability to default back to the council anyway

If it's any consolation mate I just asked if they were going to report on it and if he felt bad for backing the wrong horse and he's blocked me too, such a professional 😂

Bobby is a consummate professional….never influenced by brown nosing and free tickets!

I am sure Bridge will do a report when his masters let him out of his cage, maybe Vaughan is on holiday so he hasn’t helped him with the big words. It could either of these issues.

I asked Andy turner the same question and he's blocked me too.... The professionalism of these "journalists" is something else!

Hi Andy when you read this... you could have just answered the question rather than blocking me (as I was very polite), you and your paper are a disgrace to the city of Coventry and you should all hang your heads in shame

I’ve asked Simon see what he thinks?

also maybe it’s a good thing that ct and cwr think no one really cares

Can’t see how it’s a good thing but anyway it’s newsworthy and it’s not getting a single ounce (!) of coverage

If you reached out politely (and I believe you), then that is a joke that he blocked you for asking a genuine question. I think it just gives more weight to the argument that there's some dodgy relationships going on.

But all of us on here do care that's what's the thread is about, its not just on here either, we all want Wasps gone, it's just a wall of silence from Eastwood, Vaughan, Bridge, etc, and as for Andy Turner do something useful for a change, how he still gets paid I don't know

That’s lacking in class if his done that. No excuse if you was polite.

Yep they both did when I just asked why there was no coverage of it in the local press

Could be doing 2+2=5 here but something seems to be going on that we aren't privy too (unless of course it's just the fact that that both turner and bridge are just bloody useless at their jobs of course 😂)

Cause it could be seen that no one cares in coventry about whether there in the shit or not . I would like to know but I’m just trying to understand why it’s so quiet

Id suggest because given the fact the media and the council are massively invested in this venture, failure would be a huge loss of face and credibility

Given failure would mean the council being handed back the problem it’s incredulous they no one is reporting it

I actually think now would be a good opportunity for them to redeem themselves by blowing wasps’ shit wide open.

They won’t because they won’t want to piss off a potential advertiser of course. Their part it it will always be remembered.

Pretty pathetic from Turner. Bobby Bridge appears to be your classic client journalist, sad more than anything.

I’m inclined to agree that rather there being some grand company-wide conspiracy to bury the story, the CET simply doesn’t think its readers care enough about Wasps to bother trying to understand a relatively complicated story like this one. Will come back to bite them if this does turn out to be the beginning of the end, of course.
