Could they go for a straight liquidation and do away with admin. They don't have any assets as the training ground has been moved to an individual rather than through the company. All they have is a lease on the stadium. The players are worthless as no transfer fees involved in rugby. 🤷‍♂️

Is an overseas investor likely? Rugby doesn't have the global reach of football, could be a big ask. You wouldn't be looking at Wasps, the Premiership or the UK economy in general and think it was a great opportunity to make money.

You'd think it would need to be someone who is in someway connected to the club, even if only as a fan, which raises the question why are they leaving it so late.

We had an American who said he could buy us, saying you can do it to the press and actually putting your money up and going through with it are very different things.

Think having the World Cup in the US says more about the ongoing misguided idea that there will be huge expansion in the game and it will rival football rather than there being a fanbase ready and waiting.

Lets be honest, even when the World Cup is hosted here its barely noticeable outside the rugby community.

If he just stuck to his political views everyone on here would be lapping up his every word

You are correct that if people with dumb views only shared other views that I agreed with instead, I would like them more. Might even invite them over for a photo op!

I doubt in truth anyone would have a photo op with you unless they do a barrista of the day award in South Croydon

Are you sure you want to go down the route of who’d look better in a photo op?

I have no idea what you look like. I have a vision of course.

There are some serious US companies looking at rugby union as a franchise opportunity . They will try anything as they have the backing for a gamble

Can't think of a single one that has done it here. Why would Americans go for a sport like that, where there is little evidence of being able to turn a profit. It's not even a gamble; it's a certainty - as a loser.

Am I right in thinking it'll be 10 days since intention to appoint administrators tomorrow? Does that mean they'll officially be in admin tomorrow if nothing happens?

I would assume 10 working days? They can apply for a 10 day extension as well

I don't see how. Our lease will remain in place, and we move to our new stadium when that's over.
I’m no expert but pretty sure it isn’t plain sailing now and it will only get more difficult. Listened to the rugby show on radio 5 last night and they were saying Worcester were evil and devious and wasps have just got unlucky. Mmmm

In what way? For us?

I'm guessing they have just listened to the Wasps PR bullshit.

It’s potentially more difficult if it actually goes into administration as the administrator will run it and appoint a new buyer

it also depends on the robustness of our lease and the terms around it. Almost certainly if we advanced pitch repair payments they will be lost and unless there are clauses on maintenance then we have no more say on future repairs

You’ve said before grendel and I now agree. It feels like there’s no guarantee of games from one week to the next

I don’t know who does the catering? IEC? Again ig margins are slim administrators can I assume to cut initial expenditure and close a lot of the outlets

Initial stages of admin will be shedding personnel - could be that some of the key communications people between ccfc and wasps will go - there is an enormous number of people involved in getting a game on

Could open a whole can of worms. Does the Wasps company we actually have the rent contract with be one of those wound up?
If we were the new key sporting tenant could the rent be changed? Certainly wouldn't be as low as is now.
New buyer might not even want a sporting tenant. Administrator doesn't have to guarantee that there is one.
