They are currently spending in the region of £50m to expand Resorts World Arena to make in the biggest indoor arena in the UK.What if the NEC want to put a roof on the bowl and turn it into the biggest indoor arena in the UK?
I think you’ve invented something the world really needed Otis – the 100% reusable online forum postHopefully things will be a lot clearer tomorrow.
Agree. They’ve definitely Peaked. These endless puns! For Gord's sake can everyone just Pearce off.
Didn't Simon Jordan make some slightly odd comments about developers being potentially involved and 'moving the stadium across'? I wonder if those stem from some of the interest he might have been aware of when allegedly looking into the possibility of buying the club. It would be a bit of a concern if somebody got hold of the complex and ultimately didn't want the stadium element (which admittedly seems highly unlikely).

The problem with the 'put a roof on it and have events' is that there's not that many events that require an indoor arena with a capacity of 40K.
Think about the cost then have a look at how many such events take place at the Millennium Stadium. How many acts are booked to play multiple nights in Birmingham? Not many and would they prefer one night in Coventry instead of two nights in Birmingham? That's why it becomes a closing roof rather than permanent.
There's actually quite a few events that could cater for that but they have to be put into fields in the summer.
Things like Boxing events, they are limited to the summer or the Millennium stadium because there is no indoor arena bigger than 24k in this country. Way too small for a Fury v AJ level event.
42k on the other hand under a closing roof at a stadium in the middle of the country...

The comments seemed far more suggestive of knocking the thing down and moving it which wouldn't make much sense to me. To be honest there's probably very little to what SJ actually said but it struck as me strange at the time and hasn't yet been explained as far as I can tell. That could be the 13m repairs...
Are we there yet?
Nah, always keep eyes on the fucking pervert.Think it's safe to ignore Simon Jordan.
Wooooah, we're half way there......
Would mean SISU would revert back to the death by a thousand cuts. No thanks
Woaoooohhhhhhhh, Godden's Lovely Hair
I don't know which is why I qualified itI'm not saying you made it up , just trying to verify the legitimacy of the comment you've read
No exactly - they’d use synergy and it makes sense. The place needs experts running itThe NEC are not going to try and turn the Arena into a competitor to their other venues especially given the superiority of access to the NEC in Brum, have a think about it.
I considered the Keith ONeil recovery room or the Ameobi relaxing room
If the club do end up owning the stadium everything should be named after legends. The Jimmy Hill Stand, the Dave Bennett Bar, the Marcus Hall
Im not sure checking Casebook is that reliable.
