You must like walking NW. the Uni area is a nonsense place for a stadium. Traffic would be an absolute nightmare.I guess the best bet is close to as possible - Cardiff's for example, isn't really *in* the city, but is close enough to the old ground and an 'old' area to feel like it belongs there. I'd (personally!) get a similar feeling about Warwick Uni. Still not perfect, would still rather we were back at HR (or how about we bulldoze Pool Meadow and surroundings...?) but still better than where we are as far as I'm concerned, but am not going to put up a massive fight about location in that respect.
However, and maybe most importantly, it's be more convenient for the Leamington and Warwick fans and supporters.
Not sure what the problem is? ACL will want the best price for the assets and the council will want an offer that protects jobs as far as possible
Wouldn't be going there when the uni was coming out, though. You must like walking NW. the Uni area is a nonsense place for a stadium. Traffic would be an absolute nightmare.
used to have an office close by about 30 years ago, and leaving when the uni was coming out was a total no no. The uni has grown since then, so will be much worse now.
you must be thinking it will be just you attending.
That is true. What is a HMRC Time To Pay (TTP) Arrangement?

Have a look through the thread, plenty of people saying it's a pretty common thing in the UK and will be sorted by the time we need to be able to make transfers.
Feel free to point out where I said our finances are rosey though.
Typical journalist trying to spin and make shit up.
Protect ACL's jobs?
No need to go rushing into things is there !We’ve all been waiting 10 years, starting to get impatient now.
They spin it as securing the stadiums future and him bringing jobs to Coventry. Maybe it does in all fairness. The fact they get to screw Sisu over in the process is a nice added bonus for those with personal grudges.Protect ACL's jobs?

Don’t know where you live but think of what is your most leafy, sedate area with plenty of large and million pound houses there and only a couple of access roads to it that sums up most of the Uni area can you really see any chance of a 25k+ stadium being allowed to be built there, I know locals there complain now about the continued expansion of the university now, compare that to where the CBS is in an industrial area with decent road and motorway systems.
Leaving HR was a terrible mistake but we now have what we have there might be one or two areas more central than the Uni that could be used but probably never will.
Yes, of course.
Interesting.....
Loads of whataboutery on here now
Facts are
Ashley is probably going to get the stadium. Doesn't want us.
Sisu have again fucked it by trying to be too cute even though they actually had some added investment from a partner ready to go.
Council have been nudging things in the direction they want. If people don think they aere ACL's string puller I don't know what to say
So as it stands we will still be tenants, still at the whim of a knobhead stadium owner and still run by shitcunts wihtout a pot to piss in and wont invest a penny, not even to pay for a pitch or tax bill.
Best we can hope for under this is a Peterborough/ Rotherham style yoyo L1 CHampionship club
I think there is planned to be a new road circling the west of Coventry (basically from the Balsall Common area to that junction they are improving on the A46).You must like walking NW. the Uni area is a nonsense place for a stadium. Traffic would be an absolute nightmare.

And also that wherever a stadium ends up (ha!) would need road / transport upgrades as a matter of course. What kind of nutters would have transport capacity for a football stadium already in place without a football stadium there! Can’t be arsed with the ‘it won’t happen’ etc.
But whenever people mention the traffic issue from experience around Warwick Uni they always forget this.
Where's his chopper today ?
Leaves it open for Ashley to have a nice large warehousing operation whenever we move out, then. No need to do any of that £13mil of repairs either if we're moving out.Anyway Coventry doesn’t need two big sports stadiums, and Sisu know it.
This is why I can’t believe Ashley isn’t interested. We’re allegedly leaving in 8 years time.I think there is planned to be a new road circling the west of Coventry (basically from the Balsall Common area to that junction they are improving on the A46).
But in IMO a new stadium out by the Uni would feel even less connected to the urban areas of the city than the CBS, and I’m guessing would be a cheap Lego affair with a lower capacity.
Anyway Coventry doesn’t need two big sports stadiums, and Sisu know it.
Live over in Balsall so much easier for me! Thought it was a bypass that dropped back to the standard roads before Kenilworth but would be delighted to be proved wrong as would help with the commuteI think there is planned to be a new road circling the west of Coventry (basically from the Balsall Common area to that junction they are improving on the A46).

Looks like they employed 66 people (including directors) in 2020.
Is Ashley going to come in and leave them all in place? You would assume new directors and management.
They have 3 directors who will most likely go but other than that it's just ordinary staff, Ashley is not going to get rid of them is he? Who will run the place?
No. Only 20,000 people all leaving at once. You’re right, Much worseWouldn't be going there when the uni was coming out, though.

Canley's changed since my day!!
Think the plans to extend the road to either the A45 or A452 attracted opposition, and may have been dropped or deferred? Anyway, accessibility of the Uni area from the A46 is still on cards.Live over in Balsall so much easier for me! Well good luck with wasps playing championship rugby there lolD Telegraph article this morning cites Ashley spokesman saying they want football and Rugby at the stadium in their plan

Fine by me. Wasps' crowds were shit in the Premier league (or whatever it's called), they'll be even more shit in the Championship. Can see them leaving or folding within a couple of years of playing here again.
