Wonder if Richardson's pocket is going to see more from the Administration than that offer from the Council for bailout?

So what the fuck are they up to now if they were trying to pull that beforehand?

Whatever it is, it won't be to benefit the club that's for sure.

As soon as I saw this I thought wtf were all these council -related statements 2/3 weeks ago about not getting involved. To be honest though it doesn't seem a great long-term deal in that the 60m was to basically pay-off and re-organize debt - basically Bond mk2.
The council leadership assured us (and told councillors) one of the main reasons Wasps got the Arena was that they were going to develop land around it.
Reeves really is a devious piece ofwork

Hate to repeat it ad nauseum but I've said for years that the senior officers at the council have driven this whole thing over years with Lucas and co useful idiots. Here it is spelt out. Fortunately it seems the current group of councillors have seen it for what it is.

How are they getting away with it though?

If Reeves has gone behind all their backs to try and push an offer of a bailout for Wasps surely that's not a good look?

It's also clear now that Reeves is heavily involved with the takeover process too. That's never a good thing, he should be nowhere fucking near any of it.

They're not going to come out overtly and say it are they? Wonder how the story got to the Times

tbh I honestly don't quite know the processes, but the Chief Exec's job would be to come up with ideas, and then propose them to councillors who have the option to accept or reject them. In itself it's probably not an issue, but probably becomes one if George Duggins has been denying any involvement, continues to deny any involvement (and he has been unequivocal on that, hasn't he) and then it comes to light in a high profile case that makes Duggins look like a clueless moron [space for obvious comment left here].

Even direct quotes are miles apart, Duggins and others have been saying publicly that categorically no but meanwhile Reeves is actually trying to push one and presented it to Richardson.

Reeves has also been a constant throughout the whole mess as well.

The direct quote from Reeves is interesting as well.

Secret meetings are against the councils constitution…

now who was it said that?

Been in interviews all day, wondered why my mentions were blowing up (2 mentions is blowing up shut up).

Looks like Reeves went off reservation but Richardson voted it down, is that right?

So there was a plan, but it never made it to Labour group let alone council. Which explains why councillors don’t know about it.

As I said at the time, pumping money into Wasps is massively inappropriate. Reeves needs to answer questions, though his defence will be “I was just coming up with ideas that council would have to pass”. Shown a stunning lack of awareness to even propose it though.

find it very difficult to believe that negotiations over any period of time would have remained hidden +/or been kept secret from senior councillors

It’s surely a problem if there is a conflict of interest as an unelected official is essentially steering the council, deciding what ideas are put to them, and controlling the narrative.

Also his personal conflict of interest in ACL etc.
Indeed. It is insane that somebody in such a position be involved in any local enterprise. Surely the whole idea is you are compensated to be a neutral advisor/manager type not to bend over backwards to give grants and development opportunities to a business you are involved with?

So Duggins knew there was going to be an article published by the times? So surely he knew the content?

He’ll have been asked for comment or even just given a heads up, I doubt they’ll have sent the article for approval.
