He’d probably aim to turn us into a top flight yo yo, left Newcastle in a pretty healthy state financially etc. He’s also a c**t don’t get me wrong, but would surely be better than the death by a thousand cuts we’re certain to get staying as we are.

He fucked rangers over big style on their merchandising deal, I could see some shitty sports direct tie in which only benefitted one party coming our way.
After everything we've had to put up with was really hoping for something better.

It's going to be a hectic few weeks by the sound of it, one report suggests the deadline is next Monday before Wasp go into admin

Would NEC want to purchase the football club though or just give a lease SISU and we just carry on plodding along
The NEC deal sounds like the worst of the lot.

We'd end up stuck with sisu and their unrealistic valuation in perpetuity while they can't try and bully anything out of a company that size.

the ones I want to see involved are AEG. not only would we get some decent gigs there would be a decent chance they'd buy us as well.

they also tend to develop around their venues with bars, restaurants, cinemas etc.

The guy from AEG was on Midlands Today earlier as AEG have bought Wolverhampton Civic Hall and are doing it up.

That's what I think although I'm hoping they might get an offer they can't refuse, could be SISUs best chance to go with a bit of money to show for it

I just don't see why you'd pay £50m for Wasps and the arena plus what, £30m to make sisu piss off? £80m is a lot of money for three loss making entities.

I think if anyone is going to buy them it will be when they are in admin. 50+ for wasp isn't worth it. Isn't the lease with ACL 2006 so could buy that separately

It’s about as good as we’re going to get and I’m dubious about it even happening. He’d be an upgrade and if his eyes are also on the arena then when it came to sell up we’d be a far more attractive package.

A means to an end

Don't they own American sports teams?

If there’s any truth in Ashley looking at Wasps I’m certain it would be us aswell, he’s a business man, hard nosed but despite the toon army calling him for everything he has left Newcastle in a better place and made a few more million in his back pocket.

If he stays as long as sisu there's every chance I won't be here when he comes to sell up!
The thought of him as the last city owner in my lifetime is depressing.

Ashley strikes me as a guy who’d flip us, wasps and the Ricoh in double time. Hopefully he’s still got a black book full of Arab billionaires

I'd love to know the details of what happened with Wolves Civic, been closed since 2015 for the refurb so something has gone on there, its doesn't look much different now to before the refurb started!

Will be shocked if they aren't eying this up.

Opens next June apparently. The guy from AEG is from Wolverhampton.

Well it would be great for a whole generation to get back but I'd really like it to be someone better than him.

If that person existed they’d have tried in the last 15 years. Maybe they did, who knows. But it seems the ‘Cockney Mafia’ is the best realistic chance.

Really? Such as? Not including the netball.

Bearing in mind most midweek games, usage of corporate is not available to the club says all you need to know. Most days something on there. Just not publicised. Exhibition hall is massive part of the arena on a daily basis
