Not doubting their intelligence or skills, but right now everyone seems to be looking at things as a CCFC fan desperate for change. No doubt if ACL sale goes through SISU have backed themselves in to a hole and their negotiation cards are fewer

Not if THE preferred bidder is THEIR preferred bidder.

Should any takeover happen, can we as fans try to acquire a percentage?

Not if THE preferred bidder is THEIR preferred bidder.

their preferred bidder who now holds sufficient cards to drive the price of the club he wants to pay down

I went to the game last night not really up for it, what with everything going on off the pitch. Was highly entertained and came away on a high, then hear ACL gone into admin. Now reading today I'm back despondent, not knowing what's really going to happen to our club. Too many what if scenarios out there at the moment. I just want someone to come out and say this is the deal, it's all been signed sealed and delivered, now move on, is that too much to ask for

I don't think there's any great reason to be despondent. At the very worst, the club is in exactly the same position they were at the start of the season; renting the ground and with owners who are just about trickling in enough to keep us going.

Now there is at least some reasonable hope of getting owners with slightly more ambition, and the potential prospect of us benefitting from the arena rather than just contributing to it.

It's not going to happen anytime soon perhaps, but we've gone through much worse and endured it.

Added bonus: If nothing else we'll have a better pitch to play on for the rest of the season. 😁

I think SISU are a lot cuter than everyone is giving them credit for.
Remember the Times article?
Yes I do. Thought at the time it was hinting we know Wasps et al are in the shit but we won't be able to afford it...however, we're open for business to anyone that can.

They always seem to make catastrophic misjudgements. Assumed they were the only game in town. Treated local politicians and the charity as if they were just another helpless business to be distressed. Didn’t realise that if the Arena became available debt-free there would be bigger fish in the pond than them. And now they probably imagine the ‘new stadium’ gag will work on a different audience.
From personal experience London spiv types often think they are smarter than they are, then are shocked when someone from “up North” takes them to school and to nursery again for good measure.

SISU have yet again got themselves into a mess thinking that no one else was smart or capable enough.

As I said, they had cards to play but it looks like they didn’t have anything up their sleeve.

Or maybe the deck was rigged

As things stand I'm relatively calm about it all. Why buy a stadium unless you want someone to play there?Wasps expirience has proved we’re the only show in town.

Could SISU play silly beggars of course but Ashley will know they have form and SISU will also know his reputation.

A deal is there to be done and will be sooner or later. 🤞

Been offline all morning, seems we are where we were last night.

Still don’t think Ashley wants the club unless it’s on his terms. Possibly decided to wait it out as it looks a lot like we aren’t far from admin.

If MA did buy the club do you think his “cockney boyfriend” would join the board in some capacity? I think many of us still have found memories of Dennis Wise’s brief career with us so could do worse.

I wouldn't mind, but my only real hope is that they'd leave Robins to get on with it for a least a couple of seasons - I think we owe him that much at least.

I think the problem is that they have no chance of standing up to Ashley.

SISU via their backers and connections think that could try to out-stare ACL, the Council (who are seen as a soft target since they aren’t a commercial entity) etc but U.K. based billionaire Ashley?

No chance and they know it. In a bidding war SISU would have lost or had to seriously overpay, a few million to Ashley isn’t big coffee.

Looking up Dennis Wise to see what he's up to, really wasn't expecting 'president of Serie B team'

If I was him I'd stay put, as nice as the Arena retail park is

Lee Charnley would be brought in, he was his right hand man at NUFC

Be interesting to see if Derek Llambias had any involvement

Think Wise is a non starter

A multi billionaire with a corporate empire is to ACL and Wasps as Man City is to us. It’s really up to SISU here.

OSB is right that in being desperate for new ownership it’s easy to lose objectivity though. It very much looks like Ashley will indeed get the stadium so that’s one big piece of the puzzle in place anyway.

Questions…..

We don’t definitely KNOW it’s Mike Ashley do we? Although a reasonable assumption from all the noise.

Could the preferred bidder be SISU? It’s their only chance.

I wish I knew…

Seriously unlikely. They’ve stated repeatedly they’re not interested unless it goes to admin and literally everyone source is saying it’s Ashley.

I wonder if when Ashely looked at financing the bond. He knew it would be a way to get the stadium on the cheap. As no way wasps could generate enough money to pay his terms.

The he saw how much of a basket case they are and worked out it would be more sensible to let them due and try and buy the stadium via pre packed.

I can understand why some might feel despondent. Only a week or so ago everyone was saying that's seen the back of Wasps here and good riddance to them and now we hear there is a possibility that they may still stay here.

I think the sooner it's confirmed they have gone for good, the more quickly a least one of the black clouds will be lifted.

For now accept that it won’t happen tomorrow, might well before Christmas, and get behind the team for 3 big games before the WC.

Wonder if he's had as many Magic Moments with them as he did with us?

I just can’t see how he would be interested in the Arena if he wasn’t interested in CCFC too. What concerns me is that he might be interested in Wasps too which means we haven’t seen the back of them. If what people are saying is true about Wasps having to play at least 2 years in where they last played this would mean MA is the only viable option for Wasps survival. On that basis you would think he could pick them up for peanuts so why wouldn’t he, it’s a fresh audience for the Sports Direct brand, it expands his interests in sport and so what if they can only sell 4000 tickets, just open only one stand like we have for the Johnson’s paint trophy games. Got a bad feeling we haven’t seen the last of Wasps.
I hate the fucking wasps as much as anyone. I guess we (and they) would have to try and change the way we think about things if we were to have the same owner.
i don’t know that wasps/rugby in general would be that much of a money spinner for anyone though? It doesn’t seem to be.

This thread is moving way too quick for me, so only picking up snippets.
Do we definitely know there’s been no contact between MA and Susu (as definite as we can be about any of this). Sisu’s silence is deafening.

The talk of sisu selling has been happening for some time. Way before the collapse of wasps.

Spot on. We have absolutely no control of any of the sale/takeover process for the stadium or the club and it's very dangerous to allow that to serious affect your mood. All we can do is wait and in the meantime, enjoy supporting a team that absolutely hit form last night (certainly first half) for arguably the first time this season. Big 3 games coming up now, we're on the up and need to keep the momentum going.

Both SaddleBrains and Gilbert say so, which is about as confirmed as you get on this.
