Sorry I said do actually think they would have done that deal.
I don't think they would have
I think the legal action and the move out if Coventry was designed to get an even lower deal.
I think if they were interested in doing that deal they would have started negotiations with the council when the deadline was set.
Yes it was a deadline the term the click is ticking was even used. It's a pointless deadline if you are just carrying in as normal past it.
Well you think they wouldn't and I think they would, either way the point is did CCC and Higgs make that offer.
If you think back to when Lucas made those statements there were no posts on here that SISU had better get a bid in or someone else would buy it. I seem to remember many people feeling it was a meaningless deadline as if SISU phoned up in the middle of January and said here's £40m they weren't going to ignore them because of what it said on the calendar.
I do recall that most people took the mick saying words to the affect of what sort of hollow threat is that?
Which is why people can't ignore threats when it comes to deals worth £20 million pounds.
'We don't posture, we are building a new stadium'. I don't believe it but I can afford to say no chance they can't afford it. Could the council and potentially lose the wasps deal?
executive, Tim Fisher, insists they do not regret failing to buy the Ricoh, saying they could not agree to taking it on, as Wasps have done, not only for £5.4m but with the council’s £14m loan on the stadium still to pay.
Pretty much ends that discussion then. I think you said if they had the chance to do the deal Wasps did and didn't do it. You would be furious with them Dave
This has already been mentioned to day and I don't think it in any way answers the question I want an answer to. I want to know if CCC offered CCFC the same deal they offered Wasps. I can't imagine Fisher giving any other answer at this point. What comment did you expect "I've spectacularly messed this up, Joy is furious with me, I have no idea how we're ever going to get out of the mess I've got us into".
Odd though that apparently Fisher never tells the truth but we should in no way consider this statement to be anything other than 100% accurate.
Personally I hope he's right about ACL and Wasps end up going back to London with their tail (wings?) between their legs and the Ricoh becomes available again.
Dave he said they could not do that deal.
Most people apart from yourself agree that when asked to bid, it would have been for SISU to actually bid so they then end up getting offered that deal.
I am past believing that you can't accept that bit.
They were asked to bid and said no we want the unencumbered Freehold we are not interested in anything else and are building a new stadium.
They now say the deal Wasps did they couldn't take on. So if they had put a bid in for something they didn't want (encumbered freehold) They would have then got offered a deal they couldn't do!!!
I really think this one you may have rethink your stance it is starting to sound a bit crazy.
You said if they got offered that deal and did not do it you would have been furious with them.
Yet you still say did the council go chasing after them offering them something both before and after the wasps deal they say they wouldn't do!!

The thread ultimately has no point.
People assume wasps approached the council it's very conceivable it was the other way round.
suggest you get your thoughts correct.

I Said that the thread is pointless a while ago - regardless of Wasps. Tim couldn't do that deal. He said it and really there is, in this case, no reason not to believe him. If it is just about avoiding blame for screwing up - as some say - he would be better off saying "yes I would loved to have had that deal, but the evil CCC didn't offer it to me". He would go down as a hero for some on here. ML, the master of spin, would have blamed the council for not offering the deal. Tim's counter bid with the nice, but meaningless letter, shows he wasn't interested.

So you have evidence do you? Please provide it
Also worthy of note is that the head of our largest fans group makes yet another post on a wasps thread.
Still let's wait for the evidence.
Read the comments from the Trust Open meeting when Nick Eastwwod was asked this question directly.

Was that the same meeting where he claimed they had no pr machine, don't know the colour of the seats at Wycombe, no decision on dressing rooms etc?

So so not being able to buy the Ricoh for £19.5m but still live in fantasy at being able to build a new stadium at £100m+
The same Nick Eastwood he assured fans they would stay in the London area?
Oh how disappointing. I thought you had some evidence and not just pillow talk with your new franchise friend.
So are we too assume that you have evidence that it happened the other way around? Please provide it.
Did you read my post Tony? It said that we do not know.
It's the chairman of the trust who contradicted that - I have no evidence either way - do you?
I'm not the one going around making wild accusations, you are. Why would or should I need evidence?
Who has made an accusation?
Who has made an accusation?
No accusations Nick
A comment was made and I just said that a reply to this was made at a SBT open meeting.
Not going to get into a debate about it.
Good game today? Too Busy? Match thread missing you
How odd. The wasps thread is regurgitated and you join in. First post of the day MartWasp?
It shows the names of people who have viewed the thread....
My brother writes a blog and he can see the ips of people who have read it. I don't log on as I was on my iPad and just looking in now and again. So, I thought maybe you see the ips of people just browsing. It is strange that I have to give a run down of my browsing habits, .... But I don't mind..... Hope you are having a nice Christmas - apart from CCFCs results...
I probably could check IP's if I was really that arsed. I just like to see people's posting behaviour
Christmas is good thanks, snow is going to be a bastard for work in the morning though
Who has made an accusation?
Not me. Everyone else in this thread has made an assumption based on no information. Tony is confused I think.
