Match Thread Watford (a) - Sat 14th Sept (7 Viewers)

I don’t think they are that good tbh, I can’t see their decent start lasting

Regardless of Saturday’s result I think we will be above them at the end of the season
Maybe and you are probably right but regardless it will still be a difficult game. Watford have won 3 out 4 and scored plenty of goals in contrast we have won 1 and only scored 4 goals so far this season in the league.

Reading on their forum it sounds like they have injury issues with strikers tomorrow. I think it will be a tight game, pretty much like every game this season. 1 nil city.

Watford midfield will smash through ours, putting Eccles and Torp in there is like sending them a welcome invitation.

If we have Bertie, EMC, Simms and Asante available, I'm reasonably happy with that, as an attacking threat. Missed the last couple of trips to Watford, so am looking forward to tomorrow (still think our next win is Swansea at home, but football is a funny old game, and we have done ok at Watford recently)

I still think we should call EMC "Zac"

I'd go:

Dovin
MvE Thomas Kitching Bidwell
Eccles Torp* Rudoni
Bassette Simms EMC

Wilson, Dasilva, Binks, Allen, Lati, BTA + dependent on if Wright, Sakamoto, Sheaf etc. are available. If not probably be Tavares and Andrews coming in.

Still have a feeling of a 2-1 loss though.

We were pretty horrendous against Norwich and Stoke to be honest
only the 2nd half against Norwich, we could of been 2 up at half time if we took our chances, would have been a totally different 2nd half, they scored 1 lucky goal, not sure what fans expect without sheaf playing, captain and best player take that out of any team and they’d struggle,we‘ll be fine once he’s back

People get so irrational about results at this stage of the season. We're losing games by 1 goal - we're in every game we play. Time and time, under Robins, we have bedding in phases of new systems and players, until it clicks and then we go on mad runs until injuries/fatigue hit us. Other than Sheaf, we should ok this time, just need to get to the point when everyone is fully comfortable with how we play.

Some of the games we've played this season and at the start of other seasons, Robins probably could have approached them differently and forced a win, but the bigger picture is to keep persisting until it all clicks into place. It's just a few tweaks until it all becomes fluid and we can start to play with confidence.

Spot on, it’s Almost as if we’re missing our best player and captain ?

I would like to see us going into the game believing we can beat them, and for us to play like we’re trying to win, as opposed to holding the opposition to a draw for as long as possible. We were one of the pre-season favourites for a reason, stop with the negative shite we’ve seen so far away from home.

Dovin
Milan Bobby Binks Dasilva
Eccles Torp Rudoni
BTA Simms EMC

Norman and Wright to come on and cause havoc, some for us but mostly for them.
