I'd go so far as to say it's is the worst officiating I've seen this season. Jumps with his arm outstretched and makes contact with the keepers head forcing him off injured.

Not that different to the Rotherham player sent off for a clash of heads v M'boro. They've had another red rescinded too.

I'd love it if they overtake Derby...

They battered us from start to finish.

That's the way it goes sometimes in football, Barnsley. Over the course of the season though you've clearly merited your (near) final position and I wish you well in the play offs.
We once survived on the final day by not only failing to get the point we needed but relying on an already relegated team to beat our relegation rival.

Horrible day. Highlight was the Cov charge out of the Holte End  The number of cheers from Villa fans when they thought Luton had scored were ridiculous.

Yeah recall that - there was a lad near us with a radio, cool as you like he was laughing and saying its bollocks.

Outrageous decision. Should be some way of that being changed

Feckin refs never have to face up to shit decisions some worse than others Gavin Ward and the dwarf Woolmer from yesterday are two of the worst

And your goal was an obvious foul on the goalkeeper

Swings and Roundabouts. We got a perfectly good goal disallowed against Reading, Got a player sent off against Wycombe that was never a red, and should have had a penalty against Brentford, Plus and hand full of others. It evens itself out over the season, would much rather have them 3 decisions go against us and then get it back yesterday, than have VAR involved.

Basically barnsley struggle with sides that play direct by the looks of it

100% we’re set up to give the ball to the opposition, when we lump it long it’s not to win flick ons or get in behind, it’s to let our opponents have the ball deep in their own half, hoping they try to play out from the back. Because we then just pressure them into mistakes, with our pressing, and get shooting opportunities, we’re that good at smothering teams, the poorer teams just lumped straight back, and it basically kills us off not being able to play our normal game.

The playoffs may well suit you to a tee then , sides that want to play out etc

Swansea have lumped it forwards twice against us this season and beat us both times, the other two tried to play football against us at the place and we beat them both. Brentford sneaked a 1-0 win at Oakwell, and AFCB absolutely hammered us, so anything could happen.

Yeah it was horrific. The whole day from the moment Stewart Robson lost possession. Didn't even celebrate when it was confirmed we'd not been relegated. Pretty sure the beer tasted the worst that day too. Couldn't help admiring the character and resilience of a limp lettuce compared to our performance that day.

I'll admit to committing the same mistake as Dan and only focussing on what Rotherham have left to do compared to us and ignoring Derby's fall from grace.

Now I know we're actually safe and not just presumed safe, I'm hoping for 4 Rotherham wins on the trot and Rooney to go winless for the rest of the season ;) Rotherham would be an easier 6 points next season than Derby.

But surely there comes a time when every team realises that and plays the way you don't want even if it's not their preferred way. If a less able team can beat you using those tactics I'm sure a better team with more clinical strikers could find a way to adapt to a more direct style, or they'll change personnel to suit that.

We started the season playing the ball around as it worked last year, but struggled due to the quicker and better players in the division. Since keeping it a bit more simple and going a bit more direct if needed we improved. We beat Brentford because they insisted on playing with the ball and we pressed them into errors.

Good teams have more than one way of playing. To only play that kind of game you've got to be so good on the ball other teams are too scared to press you.

Wycombe, Rotherham, Middlesbrough, Blackburn, Stoke, Bristol, and Preston all played long and we beat them, we struggled to, be we did, Yourselves Swansea and Wensdeh played that way and did us, Darby got a draw. We’ve only been beat twice in last 19 games, that’s by Coventry and Wednesday playing as you did, it’s the way to beat us, but you’ve still got to be good at it. Teams that try to play out against us really struggle and we’re all over them, we’re much better against the teams that fancy themselves to beat us playing football. Fortunately the AFCB, Watford, Brentford, And Norwich’s believe they can beat us playing their own game, and they have once each but we’ve beat all 4 too.

We've got 4 points out of them the season, not sure why we keep going on about them now
Needs a Barnsley thread setting up, want to ask questions ask em on there. Every third thread now you go through and you have to hear about Barnsley's style of play, Barnsley's form, Barnsley's transfer model, Barnsley's ownership. I don't care about fucking Barnsley.

Well at least if Barnsley get promoted he will be able to tell (and tell again and again) Pep and Jurgen and Ole how best to play against them.
If they don’t join the Super 6 it will be us once more that are bombarded by posts.
Long May it continue...it’s all fun.
if they don’t get promoted I fear they will finish mid table at best next season

It's good nobody told him how to play against us: simply pass the ball to our defence or keeper and they'll do the rest. Either that or walk into our penalty area and one of us is sure to hack them down.
