Jim we are shit and we are going down . End of .
I agree with Rich. For the first time this season we played above ourselves.
It is just a statement of fact. We have 12 points, the poorest goals for record in the league and still lost with a good performance. Where is the hope?
Yea hope this defeat hasn't knocked them too much, if we can consistently perform like that then we will turn this season around.Have fears for Tuesday. We have a very poor record against Cardiff down here and i just wonder how much Saturday's defeat has taken out of us.
Good morning Jim.
Whilst I mainly agree with your excellent post, I am not ready to let Sisu/Finance off the hook regarding the plight we find ourselves in, they, and they alone, are responsible, by virtue of the fact, that they will not go the extra mile in terms of investment in team strengthening, their "Not a penny more" stance is now looking likely to get us relegated, we are not talking A huge sum of money to put the thing back on track,
probably a £million would be enough to turn us into a consistantly performing side.
my nagging fear, is that Sisu will not hold its nerve, and our talented youngsters, will be in the January sales come the transfer window, their current attitude sugests no agenda in terms of saving the club from going down.
YEs! there are still plenty points to be played for, but the fact remains, we may well start the season in Div 1 next year, and a strategy for this unwelcome scenario must be adressed, discussed, and made public, but open'ness and transparacy, are not high on the priororties of our our owners "whoever they may be this week"
You talk about stopping whinging and getting behind the club, The fans were amazing yesterday, all it needs is for our owners, to express the same desire, then we might pull clear of this ominous position we find ourselves in,
Regards... Tankie
If SISU continue to be our owners, the chances of them keeping this team together are virtually nil. Do you honestly think that no-one will be sold in the next transfer window?I think we have enough quality to stay up, but if we do go down as long as our owners keep this team together we will do well and progress.
We play like that every week and we will have a real chance. The key here is to put those sort of performances in against the likes of Barnsley and Peterborough and Doncaster and Watford and Bristol City and co. Do that and we will win more games than we lose.
While I like the initial post, unfortunately if we go down this team will not stay together. This team will not even stay together past January. That will prove our downfall sadly.
We have some youngsters with potential but they are inexperienced and therefore will make mistakes. Unfortunately at the moment each time one of them does make an error we are punished, just like yesterday when Cyrus had a momentary lapse of concentration and the game was gone. The biggest problem is normally a side would introduce kids one or two at a time we are using four or five as the core of the team and over a long hard season that is a recipe for disaster. Add to that that the experienced players like Bell, Sheff, Baker are simply not good enough and we have no natural goalscorer (jury still out on Cody) and its easy to see why we are at the bottom of the division 6 point adrift, 7 if you take into account goal difference. And anyone who thinks SISU are blameless for this is either blind, simple or deluded. The fans are still behind the team and manager home and away because mostly they are giving us 100% but its simply not enough.
