We look poor (10 Viewers)

Oh I wanted him gone after 0 games.

I'm going to stick my neck out Shmmeee and say that's two of us.

I thought it was a poor appointment, and still do, more for Doug's ego to have a marquee appointment than someone who is actually going to move us forward in the manner we have been for several seasons.

We are undoubtedly poor, and remain so, which I would have expected would have changed with Lampard's introduction. Something should have changed, but it hasn't, and if it doesn't soon we are going to be in serious trouble come May.

Ridiculous some people wanting Lampard gone after only 9 games. It is not like he has lost all 9 games 😂

Plus the way the fixtures have fell recently there has been little time for him and staff to have done any real coaching. It's mainly been game, recovery, prep for next game, game and repeat.

There are been a couple of others but can’t be arsed to find them.
Yes.

I think his appointment was a mistake and you don't compound mistakes by sticking with them.

He's changed nothing, achieved no new manager ager 'bounce' and if anything the side look lower on confidence than before.

All through the easiest stretch of games we have all season.

We play 8 matches in the league before the end of Feb.

Do we excuse the next 8 because there's little time to coach them again?

In that 8 match run, 7 are above us in the league. 2 are legitimately in play-off contention, with 2 others having an outside sniff. We also play top of the league.

Does anybody have any faith that Frank Lampard and his coaching team are getting any results in that lot?

Don't want him gone but I was always sceptical about his appointment. Think DK went for a " name" who like Rooney, Gerrard isn't that good. Would have preferred the guy at Wycombe, or even Walsall , or someone in the mould of the Shef Wed manager.

That's still more time to train, December to Jan is always the most congested time of year for fixtures.

I'm reasonably confident we'll get results.

I hope you're right, but I see nothing on the pitch that suggests we are about to click.

TBF I’m not sure any manger could have made a huge difference over the last 9 games when frequency and injuries are taken into account.

I think FL loves football, really wants management to be a success and clearly is not doing it purely for a pay cheque. So, I think we will get the best he has to offer, which I personally think will be good, but only time will tell if it is good enough.

I personally think we were noticeably more organised defensively on Saturday. When their equaliser came in I have no real complaints with how our back line set up as a unit. It took an out of the box worldie to score. we did crumble/panic after that for their second.

But compared to the defensive shit show I’ve witnessed earlier this season, I’d say we are moving in the right direction. ( though still a way to go ) Kitch deserves more starts.

I agree with the one in one out philosophy, as we are not rich enough to have an ever increasing squad of meh players. Players like Lati and JDS need to be moved on whilst they still have a couple of years on contract and we should offload for a profit. They do have financial value and will do a good job at other teams or leagues.

I am confident we will see a better second half to the season.

We'll be a completely different side when EMC and Wright are back.

The 6 games under Lampard where EMC was available our underlying stats were incredible and we were unlucky not to get more points (cheers Brad).
How do we get EMC and Wright on together?

I know our stats, but they're not different to MR and we played the weakest teams in the division.

EMC left, Wright central. But just having either on the pitch is a massive boost.

They're significantly different to MR, MR avg xG 1.46, xGA 1.08. Lampard (with EMC) xG 2.22, xGA 0.83. Lampard Overall xG 1.90, xGA 0.97

I think people are looking for positives that aren't really there.

Sheaf has been up & down all season (more down than up unfortunately) but Eccles has only fallen off a cliff since Lampard came in.

We also actually have less successful crosses per game now than we did before Lampard.
We scored goals from crosses to the back post vs Everton in pre-season & vs Oxford, Middlesbrough & Sunderland pre Lampard & missed countless other opportunities from that position too (EMC particularly guilty), it was always a part of our gameplan this season.
Is scoring 2 relatively long range goals in one match really falling off a cliff?

I don't think that you can rely on games where Lampard had players available and compare to the start of the season. That skews things in an arguments favour.

I also think you have to apply logic to those stats, they're a guide and not gospel.

We've played the worst teams in the division under Lampard.

Even when you include the games missing EMC his stats are much better than Robins though?

You can only play what's in front of you. My read/hope is that they are positive signs.

He's been getting jobs because of his name , otherwise he'd probably be lucky to get a job as assistant manager at Southend Utd.A quote on vblog I'm just watching that has FL as 5 th worst manager under the title of 7 th Great footballers who are awful managers ( HITC Sevens on YouTube.)

We weren’t clicking before - I don’t think Man U will be sacking their manager do you?

1 good game in 9 (against the poorest opposition we've ever played at this level). He's gone from being out most consistent player to not even a guaranteed starter & when he has played he's been poor with the exception of that game vs Plymouth.

No I would expect some improvement in certain areas. But the point I am making is fixture congestion does slow down the input of the coaches, because you are learning in game time rather than in coaching sessions. Feel free to ask any coach or manager at the professional level.

Let's face it, if we got the guy from Wycombe people would be fuming about "no ambition".

I don't disagree that probably would have been the case....I know I would have preferred Eustace and not because he was an ex player, but we are where we are and although I didn't want Lampard I will support the team whoever is in charge....I just fear he is going to be the first in a list of chop and change appointments and it will be years before we have another steadying hand in charge again.

Some would. Not me personally. I wanted a proper up and coming manager who had already cut his teeth. Lampard wasn’t ambitious IMO, he was sat on the scrap pile until we rescued him.

To be fair how long has Matt been managing at Wycombe? Under the impression he’s only been managed for one and half years.

Superior choice would of been Evatt 🤣
