We now have not one striker in the team and we need 4 strikers to come in now. We now have the money or more likely wages to do this as I believe we won't pay for signings but could offer them a decent wage.

Come on guys who do we want who is realistic and can replace Clarke and Wilson's goals?

Robo suggested David goodwillie and I would agree as league 1 more his level.

I also heard of Connor salmon from derby and again would be a great signing. Big and powerful presence.

Wilson, delfouneso, Eccleston

So I reckon he'll only bring in 3, and the 4th will be an academy graduate.

I think Salmon and Goodwillie would be great signings but having come from teams that we're paying them very good wages I find it highly unlikely either will come here. The mention of Scott Hogan and Sam Winnall are more likely as both were in league 2 last year so a realistic wage for us is likely to be a rise for them.

I would prefer two decent strikers and two as backup than four that are cheap and not very good. It sounds like we now have a midfielder that can play up front. If we have an academy striker who is half decent I would be happy with two decent strikers.

The loss of all those goals from Wilson, Clarke and Moussa will take some replacing, however if we can stop the leakage of goals we had last season we might be okay. It was our poor defence that was the problem, a problem unable to be solved by a an ex defender !

Also what's to say Thomas might well be the new Wilson?
Did anyone think Wilson would score 20 plus goals last season & leave the club for 3 mill?
This is a big season for SP, but like what he's doing!
He's bringing in young players from higher leagues with doubtful ones on loans, so we can test before buying.
This will be a real test for SP, if only Andy Thorne had SP's budget

Yeah, I agree with that KoK. We had plenty of goals from midfield last season, especially from Moussa so with him going, we need to be more reliant on those 'up top'.

We'll get strikers, although maybe not 4 of them! Coulibally can apparently play up top and, if that's the case, I'd expect him to be one of the back up strikers. 2 strikers as first choice to come in and then maybe one on loan as back up too (lad from Bournemouth maybe).

Indeed. Replacing the goals is THE most important thing. Hopefully Pressley can get in his preferred players for that job. Shoring up that defence would go a long way to helping as well - Johnson is a step in the right direction.

My point was rather that even at the Ricoh, with an extra £2m ticket revenue sisu will be wanting to keep the wage bill as low as possible, to minimise losses and the amount of money they have to find to fill the funding gap, that extra £2m wouldn't be automatically added to the transfer and wage budget. We lost £7.2m (whilst not paying rent) in our last season there. We've cut the wage bill significantly, but I would still expect £2-3m losses even at the Ricoh.

Our problem last season was conceding bucketloads. Fix that, find good replacements for Clarke/Wilson, and things look good-although we are also in desperate need of a quality holding midfielder.

Wasn't revenue offered with the 400k rental deal shook on in January last year? Sure it was.

Then in August last year rent dropped to a low of 150k although they won't get that now.

I will remain hopeful of a Ricoh return before August starts. The buzz would be still good and people would come back. Let's of new signings, no points deduction and a full house at the Ricoh opening home game against Sheffield utd. Be amazing to be fair.

Yep, but with £4m 'admin' fees, c£2m interest charges, £500k academy, before rent, matchday costs, tax, Ryton bills, player budget, management and other staff wages, agents fees, travel, etc. on a turnover of £5.5-6.5m we will be making losses at the Ricoh.

Again, I am only saying this to temper expectations if a miracle happens and we return to the Ricoh in August. There is unlikely to be a big bag of cash waiting to be spent on players.

I believe PWKH said it was cross invoicing so it looked as though it was part of the turnover but no actual cash coming in. Saying that with the current F&B set up only making c10% profit it's almost pointless having it.
