The worst thing about everything is before I always felt like we were a club that would go places under robins even though we had tough periods I always felt that we'd push on at some point .. at the moment I just worry about us , I feel like we're just that coventry city we used to be and we have no direction or nothing to look forward to .
Hopefully it works out for us and lampard
I really really don't like doug king though I will struggle to change that feeling
I'm as frustrated and down about the results/performances as anyone but let's not forget how bad it was.
The Coventry City we used to be, was great for a few years but before that it was dreadful.
Sums up how I feel pretty well. Struggling to find any sort of optimism that we’re going to compete in this league based on King’s tenure so far.
I've really enjoyed the last 7 years on the pitch and that's really all i care about

Well what part did doug play in boddy leaving , what role did he have in not paying cal and hamer the wages that would have kept them here etc .Me too. I thoroughly agree that it feels different but I still don't think the blame lies primarily at Doug. The atmosphere has been dreadful. The team has been seriously unlikeable. The style of play, despite the goals, is boring.
It's a collection of many things. 2021-23 was the most proud I've ever been of the club. It peaked at Wembley against United.
It's never spoken about, but do people think we would be better off now had Doug not took over? How much would SISU have sold Vik and Hamer for and how much would we have spent?

Feel like a totally different club now , I'm not moaning per se I'm just saying what I see
100%
An extra £10m or whatever means nothing when it’s wasted anyway.
I think we'd have drifted lower last season under SISU.
Absolutley spot on.
With Robins, we knew we’d push on again, would get through the hard time and I bought into the long term. I genuinely thought we would reach the PL again.
We have returned to the Coventry City of 2001-2017, a conveyor belt of big name small trouser managers. For those that have forgotten/were too young to remember, we were a joke and felt like a small tinpot club.
I find DK pretty detestable. He comes across with arrogance and scoffs whenever asked non butt kissing questions. He thinks the disabled and family should have money to burn like himself. Good old Doug likes to take plenty of the credit (keeping Gyokeres and painting the training ground) and none of the liability.
In my local, Doug King is as popular as pork pie at a Jewish Wedding.
What would you have done differently to Doug post Wembley 2023?
I don’t. I think king has disrupted the playing side too much.
Not signed endless shite and shipped out anyone with a clue?
The playing side before Doug was being carried entirely by 3/4 players.
It's so easy to forget that even in that season, we spent the majority praying Vik and Hamer didn't get injured because we were turning up at away games with 2 keepers and Harrison Nee on the bench.
Don't get me wrong, under SISU the strategy could have remained the same. Hit and hope at players and pray they are as good as Hamer rather than Tyler Walker and Marcel Hilsner.
Is Doug deciding who to sign?
Cant sign anyone if you’ve got no money
Exactly. Hence why there's every chance we truly fell off a cliff post play offs under SISU.
Absolutley spot on.

No I'm not judging, I'm taking a guess at what I think might happen. Not sure why that's odd.
I might be wrong, I hope I am.
I’m pretty sure we only had one Hamer! We had far more Hamers than Walkers. It’s a better strategy than spending £5m a time on shite from L1 that’s had half a decent season.

We didn’t have a strategy under SISU, insofar as “Buy a relatively unsung foreign player for £1 million and watch them unexpectedly become the best player in the league” isn’t a repeatable strategy even if you somehow manage to do it two years in a row.
Vik would have gone regardless.
I think in reality Sisu would have sold and they’d decided time was up. If it wasn’t King it would have been someone else. Just think King is dreadful.
Not necessarily. It's just very easy to look at Hamer and Gyokeres and forget the others signed between 2019-2023.
Let's not forget Todd Kane, Marco Rus, Danny Cashman, Waghorn, Dinangre and Bright Enobakhare who were all signed in 2021 with Gyokeres.
We hit the jackpot with Gyokeres. I'm not sure there's a soul on Earth who expected him to develop like he did. An absolute mentality monster.
And that's absolutely fair enough.
I still don't understand what other owners would have done differently.
Ha ha
We literally only had one Walker (big money signing that didn’t pay off) though. Still I’m sure King is very grateful for your very hard if slightly weird work.
You hate lampard - the posting history while in charge of other clubs shows that
How many of those cost anything? The strategy was spend on one or two a couple of free Abd a bunch of gambles. Pretending Vik and Kastaneer were signed with the same expectations and level of investment is ludicrous.
To be honest trying to retcon the Badlan years as anything other than spectacular business really marks you out as either a troll or clueless. We were recognised all over as having some of the best recruitment in the EFL.
Big money? I’d say it was a comparable outlay to other SISU-era signings that didn’t work out - Hilssner, Waghorn, Palmer…Ha ha

Not played “celebrity chairman” ideally. Or if they did have the first clue about the sport.

We spent money, albeit undisclosed on loads of players around that time. Hilsner, Josh Reid, Fabio Taveres etc.
