We would have been better off with Robins (2 Viewers)

I’ve said adversity management was his strength as the only other club he did well at was Rotherham

Barnsley never finished as high again after robins left before they were relegated fyi

This is hilarious.

So he had planned to sack him as soon as he joined but waited for nearly two whole seasons worth of games to do it rather than at the earliest sign of trouble/poor form last season.

Right.

It wasn't planned. But with hindsight it was the start of the end of an era.

And other sides didn't have the same problem throughout the season? Come on Evo . Ffs what's wrong with you that you refuse to consider a level playing field over the duration of a whole season.

Well actually no we had one of the smallest squads in the league and had a long cup run

Who adds the end of last season ? Not any sane person

Who only focuses on a couple of wins against obvious and clear decline this season and claim it’s turning around?

Constant excuses. Just look at the facts of the last 22 league games under Robins. That's almost half a season with a shot load of money spent too which he sanctioned.

After he left they finished 21st 21st and 23rd and we're relegated , there is no clutch strawing.

They were glad to be rid of him

Grendel , his 7.5 years here meant he deserved more time than 14 league games ..
Cheers

So if the issue is/was a decline in Robins managagerial performance we should soon see a massive up turn in results with the new elite coaching set up?
We will see . "Massive upturn" is a gross exaggeration which you have chosen to cherry pick as a phrase. Where have I ever stated that I expected a massive upturn ? I just expect an improvement. We can all invent bollocks statements to justify our point of view but that's really exceptionally childish.

Chris , il tell you what mate it's easier to ask you to name me 3 better seasons than last season in the last 25 years ..then il take your opinion of it seriously

No - honestly I think we were heading down or near to it.

With a squad that spent over 3 months playing like promotion candidates and got to within a whisker of an FA Cup final?

That's not a lucky run.

If the squads that bad how did Robins have them playing so well?
If it was down to Adi and Lawrence then surely the new elite coaching set up should soon have us firing again?

Barnsley fans were glad he went , then had 2 worse seasons and then were relegated in the 3 years after him 🤣

Eh? I used the phrase massive upturn.

How about 7.5 years of form chris ? Shall we add that in
Yes 7.5 years of brilliance but the other major imponderable is that MR had previously never operated with a decent budget but was a warrior under adversity. Given a budget and with signings he approved they have been questionable and his management of these players is open to debate. We all know that he was stubborn and this may have been his downfall

Sure boss, this is you in February mate , you seem to have had a change of heart to fit your argument ? Why Is that

you didn't think playoffs was realistic anyway and yet we're given the chance up until the end almost and had the added joy of an fa cup semi final .

Honestly our fans

These same players last season gave us some great times .. part of the problem with this squad is it's missing a couple of players in key positions , we know already we failed to bring in 2 top midfielders

Time doesn't stay constant , that was last February when that statement was perfectly justifiable. We've spent a load mors since and have regressed under Robins- facts. Comes to something when you have to dig that deep to try and find an argument ( which fails ) to diminish my point. I won't go delving into your posting history as that's childish. I respected you before but not now. You appear to twist anything to suit your pro Robins agenda and refuse to accept any difference to your point of view.

I assumed that the implication was that I expected a massive upturn. Why would it be reasonable for anyone to expect a massive upturn? Upturn yes . That's a ridiculous expectation

I'm just putting 2 and 2 together.
Maybe coming up with 5, but this team, barring 1 or 2 exceptions, were in great form for a decent period of time.

If it all went to shit because the coaches left and the manager lost it then with the new set up there shouldn't be any need for rebuilds, it should just be a case of getting them purring again.
