We would have been better off with Robins (2 Viewers)

I'm just putting 2 and 2 together.
Maybe coming up with 5, but this team, barring 1 or 2 exceptions, were in great form for a decent period of time.

If it all went to shit because the coaches left and the manager lost it then with the new set up there shouldn't be any need for rebuilds, it should just be a xase of getting them purring again.
Also , last season was a good season on the whole , saying Robins couldn't manage a decent budget I'd wager that without that cup run we make the playoffs again last year .. but we finished 9th and got to a cup semi final , we were playing so many games in the end it fuxked us

I haven't said this - I've been consistent throughout. Robins was a big Austin fan also and backed his recommendations from all the information I've read. This is a major additional factor which I've always emphasised

I'm not aiming these comments purely at you but at those who thought Robins should go.
Again, if the problem is recruitment and the players aren't a 'top 6 deck' how did Robins and Co have them playing so well for a large chunk of the season?

I know I keep making circular arguments but I think the point I'm trying to make is no matter what people try to pin our recent woes on there's evidence to the contrary.

Austin is still here btw and doug will be backing his recommendations in January no doubt

Robins totally trusted his judgement though and appointed him?

Robins trusted his judgement and the judgement of several other scouts who were putting players forward based off stat driven data that will be EXACTLY the same still going forward with frank lampard , what's the thing you're struggling with ?

Alot if these players had good seasons on the whole last year , so I'm not going with the bad players argument, the squad is missing a couple of key additions

Doug re invested the vik and hamer sales he could have pocketed it and let us sign freebies. Sacking Robins and hiring Lampard won't have been cheap either.

It's the summer arrivals that concern me most . Complete lack of squad requirements which Robins approved

Who was deciding tactics and player requirements then ? Surely that has to be Robins
Robins was one of several people involved in recruitment , last season alot of the new signings did quite well , this season we missed out on a couple players particularly midfielders , hopefully it's addressed in January .

Robins isn't going out and identifying these players but even so , I think we have alot of talent here

Plenty. But after 7 years of success using experienced players and loans I don't think Robins decided not to bother this time round.

Some of the ITKs have indicated as much, doesn't make it true but I can well imagine it is.

Tactics yes. And he cost us a lot of point this season with poor tactics and poor subs.

Changing the squad demographic, see my reply to Grendel.

True but he would have been fully aware of their attributes through watching countless online resources. Still can't believe the signing of BTA was sanctioned along with one of Raphael or Norman. Schoolboy error not spending that money on a midfielder and not pursuing that more diligently. Again we don't know why that happened.

2 midfielders turned us down tbh , marquee signings

Too many cooks and all that- the modern game. If the general team is shit the result is shit if the man in charge concurs. Ultimately I eoukd like to see an inkling with my own eyes as to where the power of selection lies within this club. If the quality of signings dramatically improves under Lsmpard with less funding we know the answer

I wouldn't say good old Doug but if there is a wage cap then can see why he wouldn't break that wage structure but I would have offered cal a deal on a par with the top earners but did he not accept our deal because he wanted a Premier league move and wasn't willing to stay in the championship with us any longer?

Robins by all accounts wanted Austin in that role and King trusted his judgement.

Why did King wheel out Dean Austin at the fans forum then? Why hasn’t Austin been fucked off for wasting 40 Million with Robins then? Austin should have been out too if he was such a Robins ‘asset’.

Austin didn’t find Hamer or Gyokeres before you say. He couldn’t find his arse with both hands for that matter.

Unless I'm mistaken we missed out on a quality midfielder because Robins pissed him off by prioritising the other
Which one is this ? One lad went to forest / olympiacos on loan the other didn't want to leave ajax despite being surplus
