Feel for you fella, I'm still hopeful the police track this guy down and we get our money back. Minus the £10 that it'll cost me for the baseball bat that I'll buy to smash him over the head with. There's a lot of evidence out there now. DL, bank details, email address, phone number etc. Surely it can't be that hard for the police to put something together to locate the scumbag.I am afraid I too have fallen for this scam. He got in touch with me, and exactly the same things happened as above - sent driving licence, address etc - I even chatted to him on the phone for about 20 mins. He seemed so genuine that I fell for it, in my excitement and desperation to get tickets before they sold out.
I have been a complete idiot.
What's the first thing I should do here guys? I know I won't get the cash back - I'm more worried about the fact that he's got my bank account details (from the transfer), my address - to send the tickets, my mobile number from the phone call, and my name.
I have been up all night worrying- just wondering what to do first.
Thanks in advance.
No chance!! I've been in touch with him privately and he's as shocked as I am. Not only have I been scammed but they are using his personal address to do it.are you sure the house you knocked on were not acting?
I was contacted via email by Mark at CCFC and all the evidence was passed to the police. I'd suggest contacting him as well as the more evidence the better chance we have!! His email is mark.hornby@ccfc.co.uk I think I might give the police a little nudge today to see what they intend to do etcThanks mate. Did you contact Action Fraud? Or did you just speak to Mark at the club and gave him the info to pass on to the police?
I've PM'd youThanks mate. Did you contact Action Fraud? Or did you just speak to Mark at the club and gave him the info to pass on to the police?
So he's obviously done it multiple times, as for using someone on here's address is it possibleI am afraid I too have fallen for this scam. yeah he doesn't answer. Although he did text me back on Monday, saying that his phone had been broken.... and that the tickets had arrived that morning. He said he'd call me in the evening. He didn't.
Strange he would text you back though , I thought he would just ignore everything.Have you tried doing a search on the mobile number in google?
Unless he thought it was 'coming on top" and just thought it best to cut and run.On my phone so can't check much, but it is strange also he said to somebody else they were all sold.
Surely a scammer would just take as much money as possible?
