to compare this situation with JLR and a car dealership is just daft, CCFC have a 125 year stake in this city and that should have been the major catalyst to get the stadium rights. We should have had first refusal on ACL. This of course may have happened (we never know with our wonderful owners) so i guess it is more waiting to see what happens next in court.
The club and the fans have been screwed out of a long term future however and can only see the performances on the pitch getting worse.

I agree that the stadium should belong to the club but that was never going to happen with Sisu in charge once they left Coventry.
You can look at it from 2 angles.
1. As a CCFC fan it would be nice if Sisu managed to Bankrupt ACL and rather than let the stadium become desolate CCC gave it to CCFC.
2. As a CCC ratepayer you would want the stadium to be successful and remain in Council ownership or sold for its market value with a tenant.
What evidence have CCC got that suggests SISU would not continue their play for the stadium freehold once Wasps were out the equation?
If there is a choice then Option 2 is the only one available to the council and by all accounts they had limited time to make it.

You are finally right, one massively obvious reason they never bid and so did not enter negotiations so did not get offered the deal.

To go back to the OP the published facts are that on the return from Northampton the council stated that time was needed to rebuild the relationship with the club before talking about ownership.
Within a few weeks the council, in secret, under the cover of NDAs, then sold to Wasps.
If you're happy with that, then that's up to you, but it's absolutely crystal clear that the Council did not make the same offer to the club as they made to Wasps. 100% of ACL, 250 year lease, 5.4m.
There's also no denying that when Higgs were obliged legally to at least consider a bid from CCFC Ltd, SISU made an offer for the 50%.
I'm no kind of SISU apologist, but if you're going to try to justify the Council's actions here then you'll have to deal with those inconvenient facts rather than pretend that it didn't happen that way.

But they should have been offered the deal.
The council has to value its community heritage first and had a duty to make that offer. There is to my knowledge no other council that has rendered one sporting club homeless and another under long term threat.
The reason we know they were not offered it is simply that the council evening telegraph did not report it - and I'm sure they would have managed to get the story somehow.

Wasps bought at the market value, thanks to Sisu depressing the value down but not actually making a offer.
I suspect they were trying to get it lower or get it unencumbered.
In reality CCC could never do a deal because of that.
If CCC had asked for bids and Wasps put in the highest price would that be acceptable ?

Its irrelevant because you are assuming one act will galvanise opinion when it won't. Political apathy exists especially in local elections.
If the council had gifted the Ricoh to sisu the only outrage or indeed interest would have been on here. It again would not change the fact that turnout would be pitiful and the same faces emerge.
Consider this. Two of the most unpopular leaders in recent British political history are the two longest serving. Deeply unpopular personalities and decisions do not mean defeat at the ballot box.

Our football club has had the worse two owners as the last two. But we have a couple that are blaming CCC for everything and looking for excuses for how badly things have gone wrong. And I count you as one of these. You have admitted your hatred of CCC. You insult anyone who has anything to do with CCC whilst looking for excuses for SISU. And this was well before Wasps got the Ricoh.

Very good chance to be true. Without CCC there would not have been an arena built. Our club would have been homeless without a pot to piss in. Not as good a target as when SISU took over.

Am sure it was supposed to be a free vote. Didn't whatshisname the reporter (had several tinnies now) say that several councilors were going to vote against? Couldn't have happened if all parties were telling them how to vote.
Merry Christmas! How's the stadium and JR coming along? I thought those were SISU's current objectives. Vote, free or not, doesn't effect those. According to Conn, Tim wouldn't have accepted the same deal as Wasps as the loan would have to be paid off as part of the price. His offer for the Higg's share at the end was therefore only made for people like yourself to go on about. He knew füll well he wouldn't get it and apparently didn't want it anyway. Nuneaton's not all that bad......

I've just had a quick look at the Liberty Stadium, it's run by SSMC which is a joint venture between the Swansea council, Swansea City FC and the Ospreys. They pay a peppercorn rent, which is essentially £0. I'm not sure about the distribution of revenues between the football club, management company and the rugby team but the management company has yet to see a profit since its opening in 2005. In 2013 Swansea council were under investigation from the European commission for allegedly breaking state aid rules which limits how much public money can be given to private companies.
