Again undone by bad team selection.
Lati, Eccles, Bassette.
Should have been Binks, Torp, Simms.
I fear the writing on the wall. Sack Robins and bring in a star x footballer who really is still learning about coaching.
Simms score some 16 goals after a slow start last year, bassette has all the potential but looks like a loan player for Div 1.
This is not working for me.
We need Wright back, Simms in the side, and a rocket up Sheaf.

Palmer for WBA was excellent tonight. Another keeper who just look so assured compared to our 3.

Just got back. West Brom never really out of second gear and about a predictable 1-0 2-0 game as you could get. I said at half time that we were just going through the motions and it will either stay 1-0 or west brom will kill the game off. Was never in danger.

We must use tonight as bench mark of where we need to get to. West Brom were nothing special at all but well drilled and good enough to beat us and give anyone a game in this league.

Would love to see people’s reaction if that was Robins in charge tonight. It was slow and negative mostly through with some decent moves every now and then.

P.S please someone tell me I’m dreaming that a professional football team paid 4m for EMC.

Think Peterborough did an Arthur Daly on us for that deal . £4 million quid looks like we overpaid by £3.7 million.

Collins gets beaten by shots from distance too often. His starting position for me is too deep. If a player is outside of the box he should be closer to the 6 yard line than the goal line. He doesn't seem to anticipate shots either and his reaction time is poor. He concedes a lot of goals that are close to him and central of the goal.

Think we should have just parked the bus and tried to get a 0-0. No harm in that. We’re toothless in attack. Bassette really offers no threat and neither do Simms or BTA.

The way he's playing right now, I wouldn't be too unhappy if we sold Ben Sheaf for £3.12.

It's like he's a different player.

He isn't.

The stat websites have him performing very similar to previous seasons. It's just we are losing more games so it's a bit more obvious. A lot has not changed.

The most overrated player for Coventry I have seen in twenty years. Yet, twenty million some say? Absolutely hilarious. Get him gone. We'll win nothing with him as captain.

Bassette is in the team purely because Simms has been woeful.
But the fact is whoever plays up front gets isolated and suffers from a lack of service.

We don't have any midfielder who can carry the ball forward quickly and play the striker in, like Hamer or O'hare did.
We are slow in our build up, with way too many sideways and backward passes, and when a cross does eventually come in, the opposition have all 10 outfield players behind the ball.

Some usual sensational nonsense on last night.

we had chances, and limited them. We’re we great, no, but neither were wba. We’ve got to be clinical. Disappointing aspect was we kind of just accepted it and gave up at 2.0.

Going to take FL a while to get these players shaking off that negative / passive style. We are crying out for the dynamic driving midfielder - crying out, criminal we’ve still not replaced hamer.

next block of games now real chance to still build momentum ahead of January window.

That has to be one of the most annoying watches so far.

We shouldn’t have lost and I will add West Brom is hard place to get anything with one of the best managers going but so annoying we couldn’t finish any of our chances.

If torp leaves it we are back at 1-1 and I feel we would have gone on to win it. Much better than Burnley and does leave me a bit more optimistic for the rest of the month but I think it is highlighting an issue I didn’t think we had in our strikers.

Maybe we lack an out and out goal scorer

West Brom don't have one but still won. Simms should be starting every game in my opinion because being in and out of the side achieves nothing. Bassette needs to be used as a sub to change things up if required . BTA offers little and needs sacking off

Don’t disagree, said on the simms topic how he’s a confidence player like all young lads in football. Would start him and Dovin for here on out as much as we can. As only then I think will either be able to step up like we need them too.

Called it yesterday
We lose we’re shit and we have a relegation battle
We're consistently conceding 2 goals per game Pete.
If that doesn't stop very soon then we are in a relegation battle.
The only other way to look at it is we'll be OK because we'll soon start scoring more than 2 a game. Which is the more likely scenario?

Apart from the previous game where we kept a clean sheet.

Game state obviously comes into play as well as the eye test, but this is encouraging/hilariously depressing. We've been behind in 15/20 games (albeit Wednesday at home was last kick winner for them so it's 14 in reality), so you can see how we would rack up xG as most teams in the division tend to try and sit on a lead as opposed to dominate (barring Leeds).

In the cold light of day there are plenty of positives to take and we will address the weaknesses in January.

Also there's a not bad run of games between now and then so we should hopefully pick up points before the window opens.

Agreed.

The second goal was annoying, it's something that has happened to regularly this season (though far more regularly!). An opposition player should not be able to travel that distance unchallenged, I think that was the only time it happened in the game but again it lead to a goal, so disappointing.

I thought generally we looked better though, more cohesive in all departments. Hopefully we get 3 points those weekend!

So frustrating we are being beaten by these average teams by stupid moments, I wouid say only Leeds have really looked a class apart this season. I’ll be putting money on whoever goes up this coming straight back down next
Don't the majority of promoted teams come straight back down?
