Would much prefer basette running at tired legs. I'd go unchanged

Yes definitely, Norm off the bench against tired legs is going to look way better than against fully fit defenders from min 1. We need to use that to our advantage and give him time to bulk up a bit. Simms also needs time, we've seen him dominate and he strikes me as a character that needs to feel believed in.

Agree with this but there is an argument to say that at 0-0 West Brom will be attacking, commuting players and leaving space in behind. That same space will not be there if we are 1 or 2 nil down as they will drop deep.

Graveyard of a ground for us, filed away with PNE and Norwich as an away game I never have any confidence us winning

that being said for all the laughing at the worlds dullest unbeaten run... I'd actually take a draw, Albion seem to have enough of them so no reason why we can't get one

Could do, but never do. Booked parking in a Wickes, so all set.
Might do the same, reviews are great especially for getting away after the game. Should be able to get straight on one of the A roads and head away from the ground towards Handsworth/Birmingham City centre

You've hit the jackpot if you have found somewhere to get away quick after the game, I fucking hate driving to and from that ground

When I was living up north and we played them on a Friday night, it took me less time to drive from Leeds to Cov to fetch my dad than it did to get from my dads house to The Hawthorns

I am off work Thursday so I will be getting the train over and having a few beers in the Xmas Markets and the Briar Rose before heading over on the tram to go to The Vine (Which I couldn't recommend enough by the way) and then to the match:LOL:

I would be very surprised if we managed to end their run. Won’t stop me going along to find out anyway!
Yes, agree - they played really well against Sheff Utd yesterday, and their 2 wingers, Johnstone and Fellows cause a lot of problems out wide. Best form of defence against them is likely to be attack (in my 'football expert; opinion!)

My concern is we will try the opposite approach as we did at Burnley.

Fingers crossed we don't. If we stand off them and drop deep, we'll get nothing. Their defence looked vulnerable yesterday. Need to attack them. That said I'd happily take 3 points from the next 2 games. As an aside, yesterday must have taken a lot out of them - gruelling conditions. Bassette and Asante running at them can hopefully cause chaos.

Are we sold on Lati as LCB after one game on his wrong foot? Yes he excelled, but is it a long term solution?

I quite like Lati and with the CBs we currently have he’s a starter for me.

If we can strengthen the back line then he’s a squad player.

Didn’t realise they still had Johnston from Celtic. Looked above this level last year, doesn’t seem to have done anything this year…yet.

Great goal against us last year.
Yeah! Also noticed Jed wallace was on the bench didnt come on. And Swift didnt come on till 86th minute.

Not sure how them 2 dont get game time looking at their first team.

Not sold on him, no.

However, can’t deny he was good on Saturday and has had a few good games for us recently.

There are lots of examples of technically limited players being good centre backs, hopeful that can be him as he seems a top pro.

I like how Lampard has already identified the CB’s ability passing wise on the ball, while also recognising Torp’s strength on it with that simple decision to have him drop in between and collect the ball

Looked on player positions on this and I thought it was Sheaf who dropped in and helped collect it and move it on.

While Torp was more of an 8 in transitioning the ball through the lines. Which shows on positioning. Either way as you say good to see Lampard offering the CBs more help and support

Thanks for posting that. Went to the match. Some terrible football on show watching the highlights!

Yer it really wasn't fun watching us under Phil Neal. Looking back, the WBA win was the only 1 in 13, ending with him getting sacked and Big Ron coming in -
