Just been released. Any thoughts on where he'll go?

I've just put this on the "realistic free transfers" thread, although it's not realistic! But I'd take him back. He'll probably go to somewhere like Blackpool or maybe even one of the relegated teams. Will Ruddy, Marshall or Stekelenburg stay at any of their clubs?

Unless any player coming in accepts a wage of 10 "Woodies" bag of chips, and a stick of wrigglys gum(Spearmint) then forget it.

Grass isn't always greener, is it? Though admittedly his bank balance probably is.

Would love him back but it just isnt happening. Lower end Chapmpionship club will snap him up. Apart from his wages, his career has gone backwards since leaving us even though it was 2 divisions higher.

£4.5 million earned for 24 games. Not bad if you can get it.

Good move for his bank balance but not for his career. I am sure he will have a few offers but not likely to get the same kind of money.

I can't begrudge him for his move or take any glee in it not working out in the end. Signed for us, was ace, honoured his contract and then went somewhere else. No drama, no scandal. Hope his next move works out.

He started the season as the first choice in his team, then got injured and lost that spot. He's only 29, still pretty young for a keeper. What he doesn't need now though is to be someone's back up keeper again.

Westwood an Eastwood both released today, Westwood still got a good career left, Freddy's died long ago...... Waste of early talent their.

Er, played in the prem, and worst case will be at a top championship club next season, all whilst having a lot better lifestyle due to bank balance.

I am sure he hasnt lost too much sleep about no longer playing for CCFC in Northampton

Erm if we cannot afford Murphy no way we can afford Westwood - sure things will work out ok for him

So if it was CCfc in the Ricoh he would have lost sleep?

i mentioned "sleep" as well, that was irrelevant, why not pick up on that

Sleep and playing at Northampton could well go together. Not much noise to keep you awake.

I thought when he moved on he would have been the number 1 somewhere but was unlucky with injuries and some mad managers, none of Fox, Dann or Westwood have become the players I thought they would as I really thought that Dann would have become an international player as he was excellent for us but on the upside for them they must have made plenty of cash and played in the prem.

So why mention the location if it is irrelevant to the overall conclusion?

It is relevant, shows further decline in our clubs status.
