If someone asks me to move at an away game, I will, because I'm not a knob. But unless you have a genuine reason to want a specific seat I think you should just get on with it and find another space if someone has taken yours.

Never seen it myself, closest i have seen was the wolves cup game side stand where they checked you in the right block but after let you go anywhere in that block

At the Morecambe game in L2 we had a group sat in our seats, asked them to move, they said no. Explained that Mrs BSB has a sight impairment and needs to sit there to be able to see the game, still no. Stewards told us to move away and sit where she couldn’t really see the game.

Only time we’ve ever had a problem at a home game.

Being “flexible on seating” is only part of the away day experience. It really is very simple. There is a seat for everyone, the number and row is on their ticket. If you can’t with sitting/standing in your allocated seat then don’t go.

I go to about 10 a season. Normally me and a mate or my sons. We buy linked seats in one transaction.
It’s not difficult.

It is difficult if the person you are going with has different points and you have to buy at different times.

There's easy solutions to these problems. If you're short/don't want to stand, go to the front, there's usually free spaces.

Standing and being flexible on seating is part of the away day experience. If you don't like it/can't deal with it, don't go.

The way your behaving at away games is annoying lots of fans, you sit where your ticket states, one day you might find yourself having a row to yourself because you’ve peed a lot of people off into travelling to away games.

I suggest you visit the Watford thread on here, a lot of fans have expressed their displeasure in going to away games now.

What if you are old? Or infirm? Can't stand for any long periods because of bad legs etc.

Surely if you have a seat that is allocated to you and you wish to sit in that seat, you should be able to sit in that seat and not have your view blocked.

So glad I stopped going to away matches a few years ago, if that's what it's like now.

I had it last night, there were a couple of blokes in my seats but there were also some free in the row, so it wasn't a big deal.

We've all done it and away I'll move to the best atmosphere, but this is the important thing. I'll always move over without complaint if I'm in someone's seat.

"Sit somewhere else" when you're in their seat is a c*ntish thing to say. If everyone can squeeze in, then make it work. Obviously if people are old, disabled or with kids then move out the way.

I really don’t get the ‘stand/sit where the fuck you want’ attitude.
But as some have alluded to, people don’t give a shit.

I have to say with away games this is a new thing I think - I used to go to a couple a season over the years - last one I went to I think was maybe Walsall away (when Moussa scored).
but I never had an issue - always went to the seats we were allocated (unless it was Peterborough or Torquay where it was an old fashioned terrace) and no problems.

You're far from the first person I've heard say that. Just reading through this thread tells you everything you need to know, people who don't give a shit about anybody else's concerns as what they want is the priority over everything.

Football must be the only event where you buy an allocated seat but have people expecting it to be a free for all / sit where you like.

For the record , the idea that an away game is a free for all isn't true .

I've been to over 300 away games with city and generally since we've been selling out I always head to my seat , we usually have a party of 3 or 4 .

I've never had an issue with people in regards to my seat , partly because I've got a head like an XL bully
But also I'm never in anybody else's seat to have them approach me

Unfortunately, Covid accelerated poor behaviour by entitled people you think it was a free pass that allowed them to do anything. At football, it was best illustrated at Euro 2020 final, and not much better in Berlin this July.

I was at both those games and was ashamed to be an England fan - I have been going to CCFC away games regularly since 1986 and have never seen it so bad as now. Obviously, there was a lot of standing earlier so there was self-selection, but at high demand seated PL games, there weren’t issues.

Sadly, older fans will be scared off if the selfish behaviour continues. Not everyone is able to stand for 90 minutes plus, but that wouldn’t even be a consideration for the coked up/pissed up masses. I am 54, and luck enough to still be fit enough to stand but lots aren’t, and it is sad that their support may well be lost, particularly after watching many years of dross.

Happens to me quite frequently to me at away games and it’s always a group of stupid teens.I have been going away since the late 70s but it’s time to call it a day.
All we want to do is turn up and get behind the team unlike many so called fans who are more interested in the opposition supporters than the game.
Going away these days can be an uncomfortable experience from arguing with people in our seats or being amongst late arriving coked up Morons who stand where they like and have no interest in the game

Season ticket holders should get an ejector remote that they can press to spring someone out of the ground if they are in their seat. There may be some health and safety issue though. Unfortunately some humans are obnoxious stains.

I’ve never got it. You pay for a seat - just sit in the one you are allocated. What those that take seats that are not theirs don’t realise is that a good % of people turning up having bought seats together in good faith are too intimidated to ask others to move or don’t want to cause “a scene”. They often end up split up = somewhat spoils the game for them. Just sit in your seat.
