What a day. Crap day at work. Crap evening at home. Then the news came through. So Joy does want us to win. No more silly comments about wanting us to stay down where we are. Have drunked my drink. A good time to be a City fan. Our younger supporters will at last see what it is like to have a winning side. Crawling to bed now. Good night all. Thanks for a good and sensible evening. We are looking up. Love you all. Nite all have fun.

Here here,

its about out time we had a change in fortune, a lot of people will say "we've only appointed a manager not a messiah" but it's more than that, Mowbray wouldn't have signed unless the foundations had been laid to take the club forward. I honestly believe we've turned a corner, Mowbray signing, 4th cheapest season tickets in the league....Good time to be a City fan. Absolutely buzzing for next season.... Wonder if our record of being "the only club to have not finished in the top 6 of any division for 40 odd years" will come to an end !

enjoy it folks, the good times as a city fan are few and far between !

I've never got behind the idea that they were actively trying to avoid being in a higher division, I've always veered more towards the idea that they're just a clown college and had little control over what was happening.

Hopefully this is Mowbray kicking the door in, sitting them all down like children and telling them how a football club ought to work.

I'm afraid I've seen too many false dawns to get too carried away with all this. Sorry, but anyone would think we have been bought out by Russian billionaires and appointed Pep Guardiola.

I do think that Mowbray is as good a manager as we can ever expect at our lowly level but we are still in the hands of terminally incompetent owners who will probably drive him away at some point. There is a hell of a long way to go just to stop the rot. I think it is optimistic to expect that we will suddenly be promotion contenders immediately. I'd love to see it but we are not out of the woods yet. The next step needs to be new owners but we all know that is unlikely.

It's a massive building process as far as I am concerned. Wish we had a better spine to the side to give me more confidence. I do well think we could be challenging next season, but there are an awful lot of blanks to fill and it's not as if we only need 2 or 3 players is it. We need 6 or 7, or 8 good signings.

-------------------------------------------GK ?---------------------------

RB Philips (more a back up) ---- CB Willis CB Reda ---=------------ LB ?

RM? ---------------- CM? ----------- CM Fleck? --------------------------LM?

---------------------Forward? -------------------------- Forward Maddison?

I would say we only have about 3 players nailed on, on the starters teamsheet. We need a keeper, at least 3 midfield players, 2 right backs and 2 forwards. That's 8 players straight away.

Can't rely on Maddison for the whole season and the likes of Stokes and Tudgay and Philips are more likely to be squad players rather than certain first teamers.

A hell of a lot of work to be done.
