In 2010 the aggregate net debt in the Championship was nearly £1bn. It's a problem that goes way beyond Pompey. We even have fans here who constantly lobby for administration and a "clean slate" - ie doing exactly the kind of robbery of which you so disapprove. We're singing from the same sheet in the sense that money is a massive problem in football and there needs to be proper regulation with sharp teeth, but it's not the case that every team not named Pompey is angelic.

Let's be clear about something: Pompey's 10 point deduction helped us out massively. We'd still be concrete certainties were it not for their...generosity. Now though, the odds are pretty even; so, so much depends on that Bristol away game - hopefully we can win it and then we'd definitely have our noses in front. If we lose it, then it's going to be hard to claw back the points with the games lessening.

I agree without Pompy's 10 points deduction we would still be in a perilous position but Pompy only got deducted 10 points because they were bad managed and had players they couldn't afford so their penalty is arguably just and deserved. If Pompy had played within the rules to begin with they very well could have been below us anyway.

Stay up by hook or by crook doesn't bother me anyway.

Those that even suggested we had a chance of staying up a month or so ago were labelled as deluded optimists and everyone else who stated we were going down as fact were labelled realists. (Don't mean you in specifics, just a generalised fan feeling)

Not so much now eh, we still have a long way to go but we have given ourselves a great chance now. Like I said before it would be fantastic if on Saturday we could pull further away from Bristol meaning we could lose on Easter Monday and still be ahead of them.

The Portsmouth points deduction becomes a moot point if we can catch Millwall now. They are three points ahead and we are yet to play them.

Finish ahead of them as well and we will have escaped relegation on our own merit not through the points deduction.
