Bloody shite once the old hamstrings keep failing hopefully just a niggle though, he went off early so I assume it was just a tweak.

Do we need to sign another CM? Hamer, Sheaf, Allen and injury prone Eccles and Kelly doesn’t feel like enough.

Depends if Eccles look like making it, even if so I’d be tempted to move Allen on and bring in a Hamer understudy.

Such a shame. Still think he was instrumental in us staying up first year in championship. Played better when he was in the team. But we have improved in that area now. Nevertheless, what an unbelievable signing. Hope he isn’t out for too long.

Oh fuck what happened? Does it look like he’s gunna be out again for a while? Giving him a 2 year deal was ridiculous I did think at the time

Not sure what that has to do with his injury record?
You said 'he was done at this level'..Which suggests that the level he was operating at was part of the issue and contributed to the injury. I was simply highlighting today he was up against a league 1 midfield.

We need another midfielder and need to move Kelly out.

To be fair I didn't say it... I was just interested in what you thought... he was playing in a championship midfield no matter who he was up against the demands on style and how we play are still there. As a club the unfortunate truth is we can't carry people who will be injured a lot.

We were playing a league one team in a friendly!

Irrelevant if we were playing stoke primary under 9s

The man cant last without snapping his hamstring. Thats why hes dones at our level, we cannot carry passengers we need everyone fit and to the level with 21 games until November

Think we are in agreement it's a worry as we don't have loads of depth in that area unless Howley is advancing rapidly.
Don't see him leaving before he goes on a free next summer as his wages sound decent and his injury record would worry potential bidders.
Anyone know If it is serious?

If he ends up being injured for much of this season, I think MR will likely let Eccles have his role and hope he can overcome his injury issues. If not, then it may have to be Howley, depending on if the loan window has closed at that time. There is also Allen.

Unless we sell Hamer or Sheaf I can't see MR looking to spend the budget available on a midfielder of this ilk.

Time to get rid, he hasn't looked great in this league when he's actually been fit enough to play so whats the point in paying someone to not play for us ...harsh but with our budget it needs to be brutally harsh!
