He played v FGR and Wolves last week
Howley has done well tbf… even though he’s really an attacking midfielder, he has played CB against Leamington, Forest, FGR and Wolves U23’s. He picked up a knock against Wolves so wasn’t involved at Oxford..still only 18 too…

He's a deep lying midfielder rather than attacking midfield

He’s not actually… they have been playing him deeper for the last couple of seasons in the 23’s but they allowed him to play further forward for the last part of the season and he chipped in with plenty of assists and goals… maybe Cov do see him being deeper as you say but he definitely can have a big impact when played further forward…

Potentially. Have only tracked him for the last couple of seasons and every time he's been fairly deep. Seems a similar type of player to Sheaf where you feel that he could offer something going forward but for the most part he is the sitter of the CM pairing or 3

Yes that would be true but I think he can offer the team more going forward… assists, goals etc but good to have that versatility and present differing options potentially…

Kelly has been a good servant to this club. Cut the bloke some slack FFS nobody wants to be injured.
Maybee we should be questioning the physios management of it.

I think it's difficult to manage to be honest. It's quite clear he's developed a worsening issue. What is it 4 hamstring injuries in the space of two years now?

From Robins comments in the middle of the article I'd suspect us to progress interest in Max Bird at some stage.

I’m fairly ignorant here. I know clubs take out out insurance against injuries. Not sure it would cover something like this, particularly with his injury record over the last 18 months or so.

Anyone with a bit more football finance knowledge able to advise whether we could make a claim here, or whether that’s just career ending injuries? I’d suspect the latter.

NB: having worked in other insurance industries, I know all policies are different…

I can see where you thought that from what he said, but his comments seemed to me more like we are going to settle with what we've got:

"But yes, it can change the dynamic, that's for sure, but we have seen Josh Eccles can do that. I can't just go and get experience because that doesn't solve anything longer term, and I am trying to solve longer term problems. You know what we are, a team that recruits to develop and sell or develop with us. There's no change, that's what we are and people can't lose sight of that, so we just get on and carry on as we are."

I'll admit I'm more sentimental about Kelly, but keeping Waghorn and Walker for me seems frustrating and like we are settling as well.

6 minutes into a game, surely have to be looking into the warm ups?

You'd only do that if it was a pattern though wouldn't you? It's not like 3 players went down in the first 10 3 games in a row. It's a 30+ year old with a history of hamstring injuries

Potentially out until New year according to Robins

Pathetic to offer him the contract - it makes us look like a go fund me rather than a serious professional club
