I have his "The Attractions of Youth" album. Really like his stuff. It was my missus that got me listening to him at first.Anyone come across Barns Courtney?
I did know one of his songs Glitter and Gold, but he was supporting Elbow in Manchester and unfortunately we missed him, because it took too long for to get to the gig (4 1/2 hrs).
Anyway, been sussing him out and I really like him. Picked this one song here because it transcends all genres I would say, and I think if you like rock you are just as much likely to like this as you would if you were into indie.
I love it.
Enjoy.
I prefer this to Otis' offering!!Give this a listen for a giggle! Very tongue in cheek! :emoji_laughing:
My mate at Cally back in the sixties was called Loz Netto, and he was in Sniff and the Tears. He was a good musician at school and has gone on to become a top session man. Good memories.Sniff 'n' The Tears - "Driver's Seat":
I never thought I'd hear Johnny Cash on Planet Rock. But several times they've played his version of Nine Inch Nails track Hurt. It is brilliant though, and the video him and his wife did to accompany the song is great too.
I've just done a new Rockblock for Planet Rock. The theme I used was my favourite cover versions, this is on my list. Have you heard Sounds Of Silence by Disturbed ?Probably the greatest cover version ever B.
My mate went with his missus. He's a massive Manic Street Preachers fan who headlined. He said the Specials went down well, and in the crowd was a Sky Blues flag /banner flying !Sat in my Dad's garden with a beer listening to the Specials playing live. He lives next to Wollaton Park in Nottingham so we can hear them on the main stage at Splendour festival
Often think about doing that - do they tell you when it’s on ! If so let me know when yours is on or list the tracks and from what I know I reckon I will have a good proportionI've just done a new Rockblock for Planet Rock. Awesome. 20 tracks ain't easy, but managed it in the end. Had a great time researching and listening to tracks !

I've had about 7 Rockblocks featured on there in about 2 years. I enjoy doing them and they seem to like my choices. They say they will contact you but never do, so you just tune in every night and 1pm on Saturdays.Often think about doing that - do they tell you when it’s on ! Great stuff and surprised at Wingy. Thought this would have been right up his street.I have his "The Attractions of Youth" album. Really like his stuff. It was my missus that got me listening to him at first.
I like to have a thread to my 20 tracks. I've used the thread of bands I've never seen, favourite tracks from American acts, female artists, colours, and animals. Great fun compiling them !Often think about doing that - do they tell you when it’s on !
