What Chairmen should say.... (2 Viewers)

Have a read of this...

Granted, it could be a load of spin but he is actually doing what he says and following up his promises to the fans. It seems like he is putting fans first and making promises to make things attractive (Real game) so that he gets the ground full every week.

I remember seeing on Late Kick Off once that the Chairman and his son would be in the tunnel wishing the players luck before every game and shaking their hand before they went onto the pitch. How many games have our board been to?

Makes me jealous sometimes, we get Tanned Ken who does nothing but lie and feed us spin to the point where nobody believes a word he says....

And to convince us that he should be called honest ken, he has got a Tony Blair spin doctor, sorry advisor on to the board this week!!!

I understand that to Leicesters Owners it is a toy. They are basically opening up a game of Football Manager and turning on all the cheats and having fun.

Even though I don't support them, the footage I have seen behind the scenes of their setup and the way their owners come across they are really creating a buzz and they will get bums on seats. Even if it is just PR it works and is quite impressive. Instead we don't get told anything, nobody knows much about the chairman, we just get told the same thing week in week out.

Please don't start with the "We hate Leicester" stuff, it is a serious point about how to do PR and how not to.

Wonder how long until the chairman resorts to torturement of the players and Sveny if results don't go their way.

Where has all this 'spin doctor' bullshit come from? He was a business consultant to Blair, not a political advisor, and certainly had no hand in press-relations during his time in office - therefore he isn't even remotely akin to a spin doctor. If we'd appointed Alistair Campbell, then that'd be another story. Surely a business consultant of that kind of repute is the type of person you'd want to have on the board of a football club whose business model is arguably more flawed than any other club in the division.

Lighten up Adam anything surrounding blair involved spin

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Blairite by any stretch of the imagination, but this was entirely separate to his political career. His post-office enterprise has been relatively successful, so it's an encouraging sign for us to have an advisor to that business on board. If he can polish us up a bit for resale, then so much the better for everyone (we hope).

On the general topic, it is very easy to envy Leicester reading this kind of statement. You have to keep reminding yourself that ultimately he has to be chasing a profit somewhere, and it can't last forever for them; I firmly believe they'll make it up this season, but give them ten years and they'll be right back where they came from with no investment and administration looming over them because their backers have withdrawn. It's happened to them before, after all. I think they deserve whatever success they get this season. The board have shown their dedication and backed the manager, improved facilities and assembled an excellent back-room team, the fans turn out in numbers every week, and they're a sizeable club at this level with a good history - fair play to them if they get another crack at establishing themselves in the Premier League. The same goes for teams like Forest. In many ways, I'd sooner Leicester than Birmingham this time around. I really hope they've had their chance by now...

At least we didn't sign Andy Coulson to the board...I'll take an evil Labour PR man over an evil Tory PR man. I think. It doesn't really matter though, they're all Satans' Little Helpers.

I think its just good PR if you have a lot of money to splash around. If Orange Ken had 10 million to splash around signing players we would all be calling him a tanned god despite what he may be saying in interviews. I would like to see how their chairman would be in our situation. I don't agree with the whole chairman shaking the players hands before the game - that's just seems plastic to me.
