  1. Keith Houchens Cup Final goal and celebration.
  2. Standing in the rain under the scoreboard on The Spion kop.
  3. Walking up Thackhall Street after a win and seeing the away fans coming out not too happy, then the walk into town.
  4. Getting The Pink after a win.
  5. Walking up the stairs at HR for the first game of the season and catching the first glimpse of the very green pitch, in the sunshine.
  6. Beating Everton, and later Spurs to stay up.
  7. Gary McAllisters/Paul Williams/Dion Dublins face after the Spurs game when we had managed to beat the drop in 97.
  8. Cheering on the old main stand to give us a song...and even funnier when they did.
  9. The last game at Highfield Rd.
  10. Dennis Wise, Mick Quinn, David Speedie, Cyrille Regis, Oggy, Dave Bennett all give reasons to smile.

Just thought i would try and stir a bit of nostalgia.....

Beating Leicester 3-0 away in the cup with 10 men.

Thousands of City in the home end at Villa Park in - 1992 (shit result) and in - 1998 (good result!)

Watching ndlovu score a hat trick at anfield
Beating Liverpool 4-0 at home
Beating arsenal 3-0 away
Beating man utd 2-0 away
Beating man utd 3-2 at home
Watching Regis score 5 against Chester at home
And many many more but only 1 good memory in the last 10 years says it all

Agree with all the above but would also add Preston in the JPT last year. It's what cup games are all about.

Villa 1.0 and 4.1 away and loads SBA going crazy
McGoldrick Goals away from home last season to win games.
The Banter with home fans when we are more Vocal than usual
The General feeling and banter in the WT especially with away fans and away goal keepers :)

I have a very personal one from a very long time ago & hope some of the youngsters on here let me tell it. I know it's like, from the dawn of time!
It was the close season. June or July 1962. I'd been hooked on City since 1959 when my dad first took me. We won 7-1. I do remember that. But anyway, 1962. I was a kid, with my pal and a red plastic football, we got into the ground, security was non existent in those days - and we were having a kick about in the West End goalmouth. Not a soul about. The pitch was worn and dusty. After a while scoring winning goals, a figure in a suit hopped over the wall from the Thackall Street side. We saw it was Jimmy Hill and we froze, thinking we were in for it.
He strolled over with a big smile and asked if he could join in. I was mesmerised. And could hardly move - he was a hero to me. Such a big name in football then. After a few minutes he asked us both to go in goal and he'd take a penalty. Billy, my mate, dived one way, I dived the other. Remember we were kids. Jimmy stroked it down the middle.
He took us into the office, got us some pop & programmes and talked with us for a minute or two. I think it may have been Rose McNulty who did that. Sky Blue Rose was it?
I was floating for days and never forgot.
If I had been a City fan then, I was certainly an even bigger one after. I've heard loads of stories about his thoughtfulness over the years with countless people in Coventry.
Sure I'll remember getting into the top division in 1967, getting into Europe, 1987 etc. I am as avid as ever (though not to Northampton).
But if I have to keep one memory, that was it. Thanks Jimmy.

That's some story, I am 44 so missed those days, how I wish I had been around...maybe just maybe we will rise again and the youngsters (like me) will be able to get a similar experience, I love hearing stories like this...

I remember them days, Coventry winning the Southern Floodlight cup beating WHU 2-1, beating Sunderland 2-1 4th rd FA cup 1963 Curtis scored. George Hudson, Willie Humphries, Ronnie Reese, great times

What a great season that was.

Avoided relegation in the last match the season before, then (I think) made only one close season signing - Ray Graydon, so hopes were not too high. But Milne changed our formation to an out and out 4-2-4 and we saw some great attacking football and some fantastic matches:

Beating top of the league Man City 4-2 (Fergie hat trick)
The 5-4 classic at home to Norwich
The 10 men (2 injuries, 1 substitute) beating Liverpool 1-0
Chelsea taken apart 5-1
And so many others.

Happy days.

Speaking with a group of about 6 Arsenal fans in a pub first game of the season at 1992 at highbury and they were all waging bets on how many goals they were going to beat us by 5-0 6-0 7-0 as they were so far superior than us as we had just escaped relegation the previous season - I suddenly caused a silence and laugh 'bet you quid each Cov win' they of course all took the bet which i had taken out in pride more than anything - biggest smile of my life when Micky Quinn scored a hatrick and i collected my winnings after, fair play they all paid up and also bought us all a drink

Standing on the terrace at Hillsborough with my old man when Benno scored the winner to take us to Wembley.

Sitting at Hillsborough behind Oggy when he scored from an uncharacteristically accurate kick taken by the wind.

Huckerby's winner vs United.

Watching Regis score the equaliser vs Tottenham in my first match.

Emlyn Hughes running after one of the Sky Blue disabled carriages that were in front of the Sky Blue Stand, The driver fell out of it and the car raced across the pitch, hughes and the other Liverpool players were on a pitch inspection in their suits prior to kick off, Emlyn tried to jump in it but without success and landed on his bum, the car crashed into the wall near the players tunnel on the half way line.

Can't remember when it was but we had someone dressed as a skittle. All looked good but he developed a limp as he was half way around his walk around the pitch. He slowly limped all the way back to the players entrance as the matched started and fell over in the players tunnel. I was in tears.

My first game, a friendly after we won old Div 3. We scored 5 but Spurs got 6.
The 3-1 win over Wolves in the Div 2 winning season. I got into HR at 11.30 am and by 2.30 was sitting on the touch line.
Neil Martin's first half hat trick in his first game (v Sheff Wed, I think.) He blasted a penalty over the bar in the second half.
My son's first game, a 1-0 win v Norwich. Cobi Jones scored. In central defence for us, Steven Pressley. Up front for Norwich, Mark Robbins.
The 2-0 win at Man U followed shortly by 4-1 at Blackburn.
The 6-2 win over Derby to say farewell to HR. The crowd's welcome for Mo Konjic encouraged him to give away a penalty.
