Hi chaps,

Norwich fan here wandering what you guys are thinking of Cody?
Was a shame to see him go as he was never really given a chance here but alot of the fans really did rate him. Me amongst them. I think on his day he could one of the more prolific strikers in the championship. Good luck to him.

Also do you any of you know why Paul lambert was at portman road the other night? Couple of people seem to think he was there to look at Jutkiewicz.

Thoughts?

Hes got into alot of good positions just needs a goal to get him going i think!! We've heard you were looking at Juke, lots of potential, not ready for the Prem yet IMO.

Very early days with Cody, had a tough game against Derby and looked slightly off the pace. Better against Ipswich and had a few chances and if not for a shot being blocked on the line would have notched his first. Having seen his previous goals I agree that he could be good at this level.
On another note he talks a good game which I like too and seems to have the right attitude towards the game.
With regards to Lambert I imagine he had nothing better to do with his Monday night and as its on his doorstep may as well get out of the house for a few hours. I can't see him specifically watching Juke but it wouldn't entirely surprise me as he kept Leon Barnett and Elliott Ward which we never rated here. He may have wanted to see how Cody played too. Just a thought.

Yeah Cody hasnt played since May. So you're really looking at about 5 or 6 games before he gets back to his best. And his best really is quite good.

Elliot Ward has been one of our most consistent players! So strange how that happens though. We never rated David Bell yet he starts every week for you. I guess it just comes down to which manager can get the best out of the player.

Cody looks half decent, it'll take him time to settle but he looked sharp against Ipswich, unlucky not to score once, and had a couple of other good chances. Hopefully once he gets one he'll be flying.

As for Juke, I really rate him. Big, strong, holds the ball up well. Not just a target man though, he's got plenty of ability on the floor as well. His one weak area at the moment is sticking the ball in the net. Hopefully that will come with age but I'm convinced he'll play Premier League football before too long, probably not quite ready for it yet though. He's got a mean penalty on him as well, I think he's something like 5 successful pens out of 5 for us. It was rumoured that Juke would be part of the Cody deal so I wouldn't be surprised if Lambert was looking at him.

Good luck for the rest of the season, I'd quite like Norwich to stay up.

Yep Iv seen the lad on a few occasion as my other half is a big cov fan. Bit of a talisman and he's got some ability. I have a bit of a soft spot for your club though and wouldnt like to take one of your more quality players! Cody and Juke could make a mean partnership in the champo I reckon. If it happens, never mind relegation, I think you'll thrive.

Regarding us staying up, doubtful. I think we've just strengthened for relegation. Become a yo yo team untill we can make a real challenge.

I was saying to my friend I dunno how David Bell is still playing. Doesnt seem to care about any club he plays for!

Strangely, I have a soft spot for Norwich - don't know why, but I always feel that our matches against Norwich are always good for a sweet result for us! Seriously though, I haven't seen or heard enough of McDonald to rate him seriosly enough yet. But to be fair, haven't you had some decent players off us over the years? Darren Huckerby springs to mind. ;)

Darren Huckerby - probably our best player of the last decade.
Our clubs have a few connections though!
I mean we've got elliot ward of you and Leon Barnett.
You've got Clingan and David Bell.
Dion Dublin was great for us aswell!

Norwich fans arent so fond of Clingan though, he jumped ship when we got relegated.

Don't all players want to "jump ship" when their team goes down? It's only natural to want to play in the same league as you've been in all season.

Yeah you bought him off us for 6 million or something. Quality for us. Never will forget when Kevin Muscat attempted murder on him

Cody much improved at the Ipswich game.

I can see a definite predatory streak in the positions he takes up and willingness to have a go.

The only thing missing from his game on Monday was his timing as in speed of thought when in goal scoring positions.

As this is a natural footballing instinct Cody will very quickly convert half chances into goals as each game accrues and I believe already we have the missing link in having a player that has the potential to score 15-20 goals at this level.

Also good to see he is two footed and very capable in the air.

Is it too early to hope that Cody and the Juke could be the next Fergie and Wallace.

Yes. Yes it is. Although "early" implies that they will reach the status of out greatest ever strike partnership at some point, it's just a matter of time-which it isn't. Frankly, they can't even dream of reaching Rosario/Quinn type levels. Best we can hope for is that they're the best since...Mifsud and Adebola?!?

Steady, some were comparing Baker to Hutchinson and that didn't exactly work out.

There has been alot of our players transferring between. We have had a great buy in Sammy Clingan and i think Cody will come good. Bell has never really impressed me, he has no pace as a winger and crossing is average at best. Norwich also replicated our 'Entertainer' days with Hucks and Dion upfront, maybe not at their best but still could do a job.

As for Wardy, he was okay for us and scored alot of penalities (apart from one that jumps to mind!). He definately wasnt consistent, you also have Barnett who was very dubious for us!!!

I think cody will do well for us. Was impressed with him on Monday night. As for wardy, I was gutted when he left us, really rated him as a premier league centre half. Treated badly by Coleman. The,'it could if been you' song for Sammy Clingan last game of the season made me laugh, I'm sure he's regretting the move!
