Seemed to be a main stay in the team, then when mogga came in disappeared, was maybe a little to much to soon?

Looks a good young player, criticised too much by many City fans, shame.

Think he'll come good in the next couple of years, breaks up play really well I'm centre mid, similar to Thomas needs to add some quality on the ball.

Nowhere near ready anonymous in every game I saw him play. Webster's departue is justified also a terrible player only slightly worse than aaron martin. at least the CET stopped referring to Webster as the former scottish international

Hasn't he been done for impersonating a footballer like the guy who keeps sneaking onto the pitch to get into team photos?

Can only judge what we see. With a youngster you aren't looking for the finished article, however you want to see at least a modicum of talent or ability.

For example, when Cyrus Christie broke into the first team you could see he had pace, strength, aerial threat and the ability to beat a man. There were areas of his game he needed to work on. With Finch however I (and others) have seen nothing to suggest he is going to progress beyond his current level as a footballer. It is more likely that he will take the same road as Conor Thomas, playing 90 or so games for the club and looking no better than he did on his debut.

Tbh I don't think he's good enough to do that.

probably needs a few more seasons at youth level to be ready on a plus side we can loan him to whatever scottish league team pressley manages next season to gain him some experience

i would disagree, he put in a brilliant performance against leyton orient away earlier this season, broke up play, kept us ticking over and put his foot in. Sure he hasn't done it since, but tbh he as shown some ability.

Quite right, he was on the verge of being released and nobody would have cared.

But christie was 2 years older than finch and had the benefit of first team football out on loan.

Finch has done well in patches as has thomas, although I agree his progress has stilted, he's nowhere near as bad as some make out.

Finch may not progress but I'm not going to write him off aged 17/18.

Agreed 100%.

I remember watching the game vs Cardiff on sky and he couldn't pass the ball 10 yards to his own team mate.

He may try hard but nowhere near good enough how he got in above Conor Thomas was beyond me .....and that's saying something.
Conference level player at most or third back up if he stays. Maybe if TM gets him under his wing for a pre-season rhings may change,,,,,but
honestly I doubt it!!

Its interesting to hear peoples opinions as i live in gibraltar and dont get to see much of the team. I remembered people raving about him earlier in the season, and playing all the time. Then with pressley he seemed to disappear, and maddison became our great new hope. Didnt we have some prem teams come and watch him at the start of the season, must of shown some potential then!

Pathetic comments regarding young Finch, he's just a kid and due to club recruitment policy had to be thrown in at the deep end way before he was ready. If he has the ability a proper football manager such as Tony Mowbray will bring it out of him and if he can't he'll ship him out.. Getting away from that circus clown of a manager Steve Pressley has to be the highlight of his season and just maybe what he needed to progress.

Less 'club recruitment policy' and more SP selecting him ahead of the likes of Thomas and Barton.

Totally agree.

He was lauded as being a great prospect for the future, but we haven't see it. I would be looking to send him out on a one year loan somewhere in order for him to gain experience and then see what sort of player he turns out to be.

Too young to just dismiss him as shit now.

Not sure he was lauded as 'great prospect'. I'm not saying he is 100% shit, just I've yet to see any positive qualities or attributes from him. In other words no indication of any ability. When you compare him to a Pennington, Phillips or even Willis, he just doesn't stand up to scrutiny. More likely to go down the Cameron or Grandison route, and as things stand I'd rather have one of them back.

I have seen nothing in Finch yet to think he is a long term answer but then again I saw nothing in Wilson early on either.

I think Phillips will be a very good player for us though.

Someone definitely said it within the club. Can't quite remember who, but he was definitely picked out as one for the future.

SP did say that he has a lot of potential and one that he was very excited for. I believe oggy came out and said something similar at one point. Even TM after the recent u21's game said that finch played with a lot of power and drive and had showed him why he was part of the first team.

Remember when Finch made his debut, it was before SP wanted to play him but was forced to due to injury and possible suspensions, can't fully remember. He is a good prospect but not the finished article. His aim should be to try and break through next season.
