I’m sorry to say that if we lose at Crawley I believe we will go down. Notts County and Crewe have matches against sides with nothing to play for.
If it happens, we will deserve it because we will have lost the last two games of the season in straight fights against our closest relegation rivals. I thought Crewe’s performance today was an excellent demolition job from start to finish, and that’s what we have to do next week to Crawley - or take the consequences.
I’ve felt the optimism on here was misplaced for the last couple of months, but last week’s results really had me believing we would be OK. This week it has turned around again, and after surviving so many nail-biting finishes in the top flight, I never thought we would be going through the same thing again to stay out of Division 4. It’s so hard supporting this club.
I have said all season we won't go down, suddenly I don't feel too confident
I'm the same, Nick.
Absolutely 100%, nailed on confidence that we would stay up. After today and looking at next week, I am very much expecting us to lose against Crawley, so I think we may well be in the lap of the gods and I really think we could go down now.
As Linnell said on the radio today, the craziness of this is, that had we drawn today, Crawely would have needed to beat us something like 14 nil next week.
We started the day looking all but safe and now all of a sudden are back teetering on the brink.
Stretch out Mowbrays record over 46 games and we'd be on the brink of the play offs, even though the last 11 games under him haven't been sensational he's definitely improved the team
It doesn't work like that. This squad isn't good enough. I think you predicted we would score four today and possibly against Leyton Orient (I am not sure where you thought the goals were coming from). We didn't dhow up today did we? I don't blame Mowbray for that or Pressley, I blame the players. Not for losing, but for not responding to a big crowd and a chance to wrap it up today (that is why they aren't a top 8 squad). It has been a trait of this squad, just like it was under Thorne (they squandered a similar run in against team below or just above them).
We we need a big performance next week and some luck, you always need luck in a one off match.
We're not a relegation team either, if Mowbray had been in charge from July (assume all transfers are the same) he'd have had us in the top 10 at least.
Which is a really sobering thought. If they couldn't be arsed today, where will the motivation come from next week?In a llogical world not many of the current squad would be starting next season so next week would be their last game.
unfortunately Mowbray wasn't in charge and if he had been we can only speculate. We are where we are tables don't lie, and the fact is we are in the mix with the relegation teams our season will be distilled into one match.
I know we are where we are, Pressley dragged us down from what should have been a top 10 team and turned us into a team that would have no doubt been relegated under his stewardship.
I'm saving this post, for internet points if we get relegated.Fans on here flip flap too much, we will be safe.

I can't agree with that Crewee were shite. They got two scrappy goals and we capitulated.

Next week is the ultimate six-pointer, and if we could deliver the goods the way Crewe did today I’d be happy.
We won't go down.
We're going DOOOWWWNNN!!!! Just like the Titanic - glug, glug, glug.......
