Haven't had much time for SBT recently, and have come on in the last couple of days to megathreads about Wasps moving to the Ricoh, Ranson buying the club, Les Reid back from the dead, LAST leading protests against the council.

Can someone give me a simple breakdown of what the hell is happening right now? What's rumour and speculation and what's confirmed? I'm lost.

Cheers.

Bart: So finally, we’re all in agreement about what’s going on with the adults. Milhouse?

Milhouse: Ahem. OK, here’s what we’ve got: the Rand Corporation, in conjunction with the saucer people -

Bart: Thank you.

Milhouse: Under the supervision of the reverse vampires -

Lisa: [sighs]

Milhouse: - Are forcing our parents to go to bed early in a fiendish plot to eliminate the meal of dinner. We’re through the looking glass, here, people…

Apparently Joe Dhinsa it taking over the club, he will make Ray Ranson chief executive and wants to make Gianfranco Zola are new manager with Andy Thorn as his assistant and Aidy Boothroyd as academy manager:confused:

It looks like Ranson with possible Hoffman, Elliot etc. are behind the Wasps-related consortium with the council meeting on Tues to vote on the deal. (Protest planned.)

And, yes, your old family friend Les is back. :)

Is Preston Haskell involved?

So is the Wasps thing happening next week? Is it the club or it's owner? Is that £30m figure confirmed?

Why don't CCFC put a bid in? Have they been asked?

How realistic is this bid for the club? What's being offered?

And most importantly, what does this mean for CCFC? Do we have more news on the new stadium?

A conspiracy theory from a waps fan on a forum

was considering comments about the potential move to Coventry on other threads and came up with a possible theory which could explain the behaviour of the Board if we were not moving at all. I am sure they are aware how the fans feel about a relocation and realise the damage it would do but they would compromise their position if their full intentions were known.

At the moment the owners of Adams Park have us over a barrel. I think we have an agreement to play there for the rest of this season but terms are not favourable at all and could get worse if we have no stadium to move to by then. Buying into the Rocoh Arena gives us bargaining power which ultimately would be 'take it or leave it' when negotiating with Adams Park. I am assuming Adams Park will need the income and may be willing to negotiate better terms if they think we would walk away.

In the short term we can play big one-off games in Coventry and maximise income from the stadium, including renting too the football team, whilst finding, planninig and building our own stadium near our own traditional location (West London). We can then sell on to Coventry City FC when we move, which would allow them to fulfil their stated aim of owning their own stadium. It could also provide a way for CCFC owners to drop their legal action.

Hopefully Wasps are not intending to move permanently to Coventry but are mitigating short term risk regarding Adams Park.

Maybe Ranson and company have teamed up with wasps in an elaborate plan to royally screw over SISU.

That's an interesting angle, sounds crazy as hell, but so did moving to Northampton. Might actually be a way for everyone to get what they want and no-one to lose face. In that case shouldn't we be pushing for the Wasps deal to go ahead?

Curious as to why Sisu aren't interested in the Ricoh if it's definitely for sale.

The council will still own 10% though so couldn't they block any sale from wasps to CCFC if SISU are in control?

With David Icke back in goal.

Or maybe should that be gaol?

Alternatively - if we get enough of this conspiracy theory stuff doing the rounds... the council might shit themselves and think SISU are involved and pull the plug.

How could they block it? Surely they only have veto now due to owning 50%? (IANAL and have no idea of the ins and outs, but I'd have thought that's basic company law)

They will still own the freehold so, assuming a new longer lease is issued, they could put in a clause saying the lease can't change ownership without their permission.

I am not leading anything just want the truth then hopefully some of us on here will then eat humble pie and be united again.

I have now heard both sides of the story and don't know who to believe?

FFS they need to stop playing games so we can then argue about who is a good player and whether Elvis is a good manager or not.

I think I'll be meeting Elvis before this is sorted.

If he's fit, he's got to play ahead of Swanson, awful.

they are buying ACL so its for the current lease but it has been speculated that as part of the deal it will be extended.

Thanks. So (taking everything at face value) would SISU's issue be that it's not an unencumbered freehold?
