What would help the club in the short term....in or out of the cup? (1 Viewer)

There is financial reasons for being in the next draw but I think they are far outweighed by the need for our thin squad to remain fit and ready for the league battle ahead.

I hope we exit the cup tomorrow. I'd use the game to try a new system or two and give the inexperienced younger lads a run out. Hell throw Eastwood on! If we fluke the win then we can enjoy that all the same.

We MUST concentrate on the league.

Anyone else feel the cup is a distraction?

A good cup run will do no harm, but we need more attractive fixture than someone from our own league if we beat Saints tomorrow

In, I reckon. Would give the fans something to shout about and give the club some much needed income. Might also take our minds off our depressing league position.

It would be nice to have a cup run, like a few years ago with Chelse, Blackburn, Newcastle etc. Give the stayaway fans something to enjoy.

Get through and draw a Manchester team in the next round at home and the club will get a Brucie bonus in terms of revenue. I wonder how many would miss the first 15 minutes of that one? BTW I support the protest and will be joing until 2.55. I will support the team whatever! PUSB

we already have the losing habit and fragile confidence......... more important at this moment to break that......... If the team is to survive in the Championship then they need to break mentality of failure......... therefore a good performance and a win are important in the cup.

Winning the cup might be a bit too much though.

A cup run will only give sisu more money and reason to stick around.(just had to sorry)

I hope the lads win tomorrow for the reason a win is a win and a confidance boost every game we can win no matter what the game is for is a must for the spirit of the team, after the resent run of better performances I think it's vital they keep it going, if we havve any hope whatsever to get out of this mess.

So beacuse the club boost their income slightly but still run at a loss this will make the owners want to continue running the business? It's ok guys we were losing £500k* but because of this cup run we've only lost £400k* this month, lets stick around.

*Figures are guestimates as an example only.

I don't get the "if we go on a cup run it will mean that we will be giving SISU more money" argument. Every fan *usually* wants their team to win every game and I always think it's sad when people start hoping for a defeat as it will help get rid of the current regime or a manager they don't happen to rate.

Definitely hoping for a big win tomorrow, I detest it when managers put out a weak team with the intention of getting knocked out, reeks of unprofessional attitude. These boys are getting paid to play for the club and to entertain the fans, if they are planning on putting out a weak they should say so before we waste money on tickets to watch them.

Hi Fellas.
I would think the chances of winning the cup, are about the same as staying up, so I don't see it as a distraction, I also don't see it as a revenue stream either, well not for Andy Thorn, as a transfer KItty, more of a bonus for the guys in suits.
But Having gone to every game, in the 87 cup run, there's no doubt it lifts the whole city, so Yeah Bring on a cup run.
