In my experience the Football Family stuff is a myth. No one will care for them like no one cared about us.
no coincidence that the Guardian has been on this story for a while much like they were with ours.I didn't even really know about it until this thread.
Their fans don't deserve any care from anyone anyway! The stone Island brigade still think they're living in the 80s!In my experience the Football Family stuff is a myth. No one will care for them like no one cared about us.
There you have it otis, the word 'brigade' has been used AGAIN!!Their fans don't deserve any care from anyone anyway! The stone Island brigade still think they're living in the 80s!

Don't know whether you've seen it today but Millwall possibly being forced out of Lewisham by local council. If a case like this happened (which half has already to be fair) then I think that would still count as our team.
it's disgraceful what's happening down there.
Because the situation is different. Lewisham Council are looking to regenerate the area and the land that the Den sits on fits in with their strategic planning. The clubs and its owners are blameless.Seen that, it's weird how their trust is also questioning the council and blaming them rather than the "they dont own the club so cant ever damage it" approach.

My point is: Millwall FC are blameless - the Council is evicting them. CCFC owners are not blameless as they voluntarily moved the Club as a tactic to gain control of the stadium. The two situations are entirely different.I've had debates too many times on here where people have said it will only be down to the club owners as they own them and no outside parties can influence or damage the club because they don't own it.

Are you saying that the two clubs as entities (CCFC and MFC - not the owners) have been fucked over by bad owners and Local Authorities respectively? If so, then yes - but the circumstances are different.

I never said they were (as in CCC), I said that MFC are blameless, but Lewisham Council aren't - That the response I expected from Nick!CCFC owners are obviously not blameless, though neither are CCC.

Yes, of course. But that was not the point I was making!!!!Yes, circumstances are different.
My point is that people other than club's owners can damage clubs.
I think that's what ultimately applies. Do I go as much as I used to? No. Does that mean another team could take CCFC's place? No.like others I can't see a time CCFC isn't in my life.
Agree NW - I won't support anyone else if we ever disappear. I don't go much now anymore as it is, but still keep an eye on games when we play , so wouldn't bother going to football at all if it ever happens. So no tipping point for me.I think that's what ultimately applies. Do I go as much as I used to? No. Does that mean another team could take CCFC's place? No.
Despite my misgivings, and resignation to 'the end' of the club... unless and until they go, they're still my team and I can't just decide to start supporting Brentford, say.
Torch and Nick - stop being so paranoid and touchy - please fuck off and leave me alone:bag: :banghead: :bored: :wacky:
You've hardly been to any games since you've been on this board and other boards have you ?I think that's what ultimately applies. Do I go as much as I used to? No. Does that mean another team could take CCFC's place? No.

Judging by the attendances most people have already reached their tipping point and given up.
As the support reduces, we are left with more and more hardcore fans, so I expect the reduction in support to slow down a little, but it will definitely accellerate if we get relegated.
If we get to the Checkatrade final pretty much everyone who wants a ticket will get one.And if we got to the Checkatrade final they'll all be back camping on the car park at the Butts for tickets.

Doesn't the property development company have strong links to some of the labour councillors in Lewisham? Also something ironic about a labour council wanting to work with an off-shore company.
Don't have a tipping point (Despite the ribbing from glory hunters at work).
I've got all the stubs still anyway and a season ticket.

The is one element to consider in regard to councils behaviour across England and that is the current financial environment which they are working to. They'll be member of this forum who'll have lost jobs with local authorities in recent years and the decrease in available funds is driving decisions to realise revenues, in the short term. The councils are focussing on statutory functions, e.g. Social care, etc. Therefore, just like central government realising the value of certain national assets, so are local authorities to try and plug funding gaps.see links in post 123 above
