I fully expect Bayliss to go. From what I've heard the lad loves the club but he's not on a great wage so if someone comes in and offers him x amount of thousands per week then what choice does he have realistically?
I just hope we get a decent price and there's an immediate loan back agreed.

This is where I think the players/squad the likes of McNulty/Bayliss/will get improved contracts. Why not?

Aside from the Telegraph, is it 100% confirmed Bayliss is under contract until June 2019 with an optional year extension? Which we’ll obviously activate if true.
The trouble for me is that article is at odds with his own tweet from November prior to his signing in the January .
Which quoted two years .

I think generally most young and newly signed players last year may get a new deal as they likely signed a performance related deal.

Half the Luton squad signed new deals the other week I think

It’s ambiguous, which is frustrating because no one seems to know for certain either way. However, I get the impression the Telegraph is right on this, here’s why. Firstly, if his contract was signed in Jan 2017, surely his contract would expire in Jan 2019. IIRC his tweet said ‘the next two years’, which implies it’s an extension on his (then) current Youth contract, also, a two year deal from Nov 2016 would expire in Nov 2018, so I doubt he literally meant 2yrs from the tweet, because football contracts are almost always structured to end at the end of the season in June.

Secondly, Doyle said this (quote below) in the Telegraph today about potential departures of McNulty, JP and Bayliss. To me, Doyle wouldn’t talk like this if Bayliss wasn’t under contract. Like I said, it’s ambiguous which is annoying.

‘This club’s a big club and unless it’s a big club that comes in for them and the club say they aren’t going anywhere, they aren’t going to move sideways because this is one of the biggest clubs outside of the Championship’

I think Bayliss will almost certainly go, regardless of which league we're in.

Hopefully we'll get him back on loan for the season, which would be more likely if we are in L1.

Can't wait to have Jones and Andreu back.

Assuming he’s under contract, why do you think it’s certain?

If we’re in L1, we’ve got a decent to good chance of keeping him. We might not be able to offer big money, but, we can offer something greater than that: career development. He should stay with us for one more season, unless we’re miraculously competing for promotion from L1 (unlikely at this point).
We should definitely hold out for £2-3m, interestingly, when rejecting Derby’s bids (rising to £1m) we have no indication of how much we actually wanted for him, unlike Stevenson and Maddison.

At least with George Thomas (and Harries), we’d just been relegated so in a sense, their careers would ‘regress’ playing in a lower division.

If we don’t win on Monday. There is no question about it. He will be sold imo.

But on the flip side he said the only person who we will sell.

Bayliss will be sold to championship club a bit like Stevenson. Championship clubs will buy him now (relatively cheap with huge add ons obviously) and send him on loan to league 1 club for an initial loan till January.

Because he's clearly a great talent and a team will take a punt on him.

They will buy him and loan him out so he he still gets the career development that you mention.

If he has another great season next year then any club that's interested in him now will have greater competition and have to pay more. So I fully expect a club to take a punt on him.

We need a bit of perspective on Bayliss, he’s been a revelation for us but, at the same time, he’s doing at L2 standard. If Bayliss is under contract until (potentially) 2020, then we have leverage to push up his value by a lot. We’ve already rejected offers from Derby that were worth upto £1m, so how much would we sell him for at this point, where he’s undoubtedly got better at the tail end of the season? Possibly £2-3m is what I think we value him at (we valued Stevenson at £1.5m). With that in mind, what Championship teams can ‘take a punt’ with that much money for a teenage midfielder from L2? He’s got so much potential and talent, but realistically, other clubs are going to need to see his performances transfer to L1 standard before considering that amount of money.

If a big Prem club (i.e. Spurs or Chelsea) come in for him, he’ll be off, no questions asked regardless of our league position. I can’t see a big Championship, or lower Prem club coming in for him until he’s proven at L1, not for that money. The former type of clubs won’t buy a player for that much just to loan him out...

Promotion to L1 and it’s in everyone’s best interests for Bayliss to remain at Cov. For his development and obviously for us to retain his services.

Bayliss is just too good. I’d certainly be saying as Doyle or Robins the world is your oyster - take your time. You have the ability to play at the highest level don’t rush it. If we go up it’s much easier to have that conversation if we don’t he’ll be off. His dribbling is just divine.

in terms of jones and andrew
Robins said before Notts

"one of them is so so close, but we are not allowed to go there" so which one is it?
against notts we wasted 2 bench places with the loanees anyway so even if they are not getting on, would prefer our players there
