I don't know, that's why it depends on what the architect can do doesn't it?
It doesn't take rocket science to know it would be much cheaper to build the 25k stadium straight off than to build a 15k then in 3 years extend to 25k. Even Galen would understand that materials are going to be dearer in 3 years time, cost of labour will be dearer in 3 years time. Get it built for £40m rather than pay £50m in the long run.

Didn't Man City increase their capacity last summer? I know they have a bottomless pit of money but just thinking of timescale. If it's built with expansion in mind the cost and time shouldn't be too bad. Funny thing is about capacity comnplaining is, the Ricoh can't be expanded I believe I read. So if all these if buts and maybes came true and operation premiership was achieved. All these fans coming back because the premiership is a different animal and the City of Coventry just needs a bit of success. And we got over 30k fans, we would have to turn some away? Then what if all these new/returning fans stuck around for a change? Would we have to leave the Ricoh and build again?

Quite possibly, but wouldn't that be better than turning 15-18k away? ;)

Very weird you saying that Dave? But we'll "Have it when we build a 15k stadium" Where do we get that from then Dave?
Pretty simple really. At the moment we have no ownership stake in any stadium. That means we are at the mercy of others, currently Wasps. There's nothing to stop them, believing they have a monopoly on a facility we require, to put the price back up to £1.2m or more. If we go in with CRFC on a new stadium we will have an ownership stake in a stadium.

In my opinion as much as I would like 30K watching us every week the priority at the moment is securing the long term future of the club. If that means we need to move to a 15K stadium to do it then lets move.
