My only concern is that we don't score enough goals.
Feel that could ultimately hurt us in the run in.
Been a few occasions though where we have gone one up and not finished teams off and are clinging on a bit at the end. That’s the perception, and was the case in the 1st half of the season but we’ve started to catch up.
We’re on 43 goals and only P’boro, Rotherham and Pompey have more goals than us in the top 6. You have a handful of teams from 7th-11th who have got 45-47 goals - teams we have 1-2 games in hand on.
This countered by us having the 2nd best defence in the league with only 28 goals conceded. Only Sunderland and ourselves concede less than 1 goal a game on average.
Ultra competitive league this season.
Just took 3.8 (11/4) on Betfair to win the league...Slam Dunk.
The ones to look at for are Sunderland and Pompey with any kind of surge.
It’s in our hands, if we can get through Rotherham, Sunderland and Ipswich which at least 5 points then we would be doing very well. It looks like the top 6 all play each other so there are going to be twists n turns leading up to the end of the season. Like yesterday, Rochdale isn’t going to be a walkover and we need to be picking up 3 points there before these 3 massive games
How many points are we saying as a minimum for the autos now?
However, as I mentioned on the last thread of this type, if we don’t go up I certainly won’t be jumping on the taxi for MR bandwagon. I’d trust him to recruit strongly again and supplement a strong squad with players who fit our style. It would be massively disappointing, but not the end of the world. We aren’t having a fluke season and if we had to, I’d back us to do it again.
I think they are the ones who have to worry because they are all losing 3 points to us.Think we have the toughest run in of all the top 6?
looking at the fixtures which are the 8 games we need to win coming from do you think?
If we don't go up it will end up being a rebuilding job over the summer rather than supplementing the existing squad, considering our position off the pitch we really do need to get promoted.
Our budget would be cut massively due to FFP restrictions from playing in Birmingham. We’d have to sell players at below market value in order to maintain a decent team. There would be an exodus of top performers from this season to be replaced by free transfers. The recruitment team could pick some stars again, they could not. But there will be a big churn in the squad if we don’t go up.I had initially thought the same, but when you break it down it isn’t as extreme as a re build.
Unfortunately we’d lose the loanees Walsh and O’Hare.
So those aside, taking the worst case we are most likely to lose;
Dabo
Hyam
Westbrooke
Not sure I can see a scramble over anyone else, and even Westbrooke/Hyam I’m not sure would attract interest.
Plus the interest would have to be league above as we’d have to be one of the favourites in our league so it’d be unlikely they’d go to another L1 team.
So from the starting XI, it’d most probably be Dabo and Walsh. And to an extent O’Hare but he’s not always a starter.
So definitely two massive losses in Walsh and Dabo, but could Pask fill a gap? And it was this recruitment team who found them both so we’d have faith they will again.
Anyway it’s all nonsense as we’re winning the league.
The positive thing about goals scored is in the last 10 league games we have had 9 different players on the score sheet, in the run in that means that if someone loses form and their goals dry up it may not affect us as much as it would a team that relies on 1 or 2 players for their goalsMy only concern is that we don't score enough goals.

Over the next 2 games Fleetwood play Sunderland and Portsmouth
If they lose both our top 6 position would look even more likely
Ideally we would want them to pick up points though as I think these are our 2 biggest rivals for top 2 after Rotherham
Did the job for us yesterday so hope they carry on
Does it work out like that? Would the transfers this season offset some of the gap. In which case we could be ok.Our budget would be cut massively due to FFP restrictions from playing in Birmingham. Was ridiculous that some called it disapointing in first plsce!Fleetwood's recent results make our "disappointing" draw up there look quite a bit better.
Can the owners inject equity to cover it? or have I misinterpreted the rulesOur budget would be cut massively due to FFP restrictions from playing in Birmingham.
