Who selected and appointed the coaching staff ? (1 Viewer)

That was the worst performance all season. I counted 12 members of the backroom staff on the pitch before the game several of which were just standing around in the centre circle hands in pockets

how do you explain the spurs game, was it just players raising their game because it was spurs,or did the coaching staff get the preparation spot on, just listened to robins interview, players not doing the simple things they’ve been asked to do, think even he’s struggling to understand why we’re so poor . Sounds like it’s the pressure of this supposedly being THE season, or is it the fans expecting too much, simms and wright came good eventually maybe we need to give rudoni, Emc assante the same time ? Said it as a joke kinda but imagine coming off the pitch after that performance today and viveash waiting to have a quiet word with you ?

I can hear all the fans calling for Ronins head and I appreciate where they are coming from.
Let’s not forget what he has done for us. He is no fool and as any manager he only has a certain amount of time to make it work.
Shocking today and I know he knows it too. Let’s just see how it goes as King is no fool and also a hands on Chairman who will see where the problem lies.

Does that mean the coaches are responsible for our success and not robins?

You keep saying this but its simple.
good manager in any industry surrounds themselvws with people who can do the thinks theyre not so competent at.
For example, Ferguson by all accounts was not the greatest tactician.
So if Robins appointed the coaching staff then it's all on him, if he didn't then perhaps blame can be directed elsewhere

The blame for what, the performances?

So using that logic when we did well we direct credit to the people who hired the coaches?

Robins said he was involved in the coaching recruitment didn't he?

He said they impressed "us" during the interview process. He was involved.

If the new coaches are to blame then the old ones should get all the credit.

But Robins gets the credit for the staff he assembles around him.
I'm still sceptical about his involvement in the new set up regardless of what he says in interviews. I might be wrong, it's a hunch and nothing else but somethings not right.

But there's a lot of variables involved here..

I think we need to look at the Performance Director.
We haven't performed and clearly she can direct.
I think the problem is DK is treating the club like a corporate entity when we all know, football clubs are different .Full of history and emotion. If Robins goes for whatever reason Doug King is finished.
True Sky Blues fans will never forgive him.
If he listens to the 'Johnnie come latelies' who have jumped on the bandwagon for the last few years then you are finished.

Aka ignoring him saying he was involved with hiring them because robins can't be at fault?

Im not ignoring it, I'm doubting it.
See the quote Shmmeee just posted.
Towing the party line happens in all walks of life.
You taking what the media says as gospel is a new one though

But what else is he going to say?
Dougs given me a team of dickheads and the recruitment is shit?

Inm not saying you're wrong, just that I genuinely don't know where the issues lies.

He literally said he was involved in recruiting them.

Weird to think he's lying in quotes because he can't have done anything wrong?

One win in thirteen and six points from 39 for a previously successful team is a very sudden dip in form.
It suggests something significant change has occurred.
The only change I can see during that period is to the coaching staff.

The coaching / statistical group & all the changes we’ve made over the summer , looked impressive, but it’s certainly not worked out on the pitch.
Was it Doug’s idea to flood the place with these people , as they only had to replace Lawrence & Vivash with quality , first team, proven coaches .
We are all scratching our heads now as to the managers , coaches & statisticians ability , to get this overly expensive group, to look/play as a team & Doug/ Mark’s stupidity , over buying a plethora of forwards , that they can’t get to play together & a thread bare midfield, with no play maker on site .
What is going on , on the training pitch , as what we watched today, with another mass of team changes , is amateurish to say the least & stinks of complete desperation.

And the Performance Director
Right I’ve mentioned this in multiple threads - people’s understanding of her role is totally wrong

she’s there to analyse the long term strategy of the playing staff. She’s there to put in place the pieces of the puzzle that will make the club successful in developing long term

she isn’t responsible for how Bobby Thomas and Josh Eccles perform today

Basically you’re refusing to acknowledge that Robins is ballsing up.

he’s directly quoted as being involved in the interview and selection process, he’s talked about putting in place a structure used by the elite sides.

Ultimately he’s got the tools to succeed and unlike last year he hasn’t got the excuse of a new squad and dug up training ground to mitigate the poor start to the season.

Don’t understand why people think DK has just changed everything off his own back without seeking advice from anyone at the club? He’s openly said he doesn’t remember the last time we watched a football match, it appears he didnt have much interest in the past. Believe me, DK would have planned this with stakeholders at the club, he’s not just gonna sign 4 coaches or whatever without seeking approval from the manager.

DK has been badly advised and let down by figures at the club. What he has done is given the manager and recruitment 45 million. It was down to them to recruit wisely, I don’t understand why people think DK has chosen the players we signed, again he’s not a football man, he’s relying on the recruitment team and manager to come to a decision. DK would have sought approval from stakeholders again to recruit the coaching staff.

DK has probably said no to any further signings, in particular a loan. Again, he’s been badly advised and let down by whoever’s recruited the new signings. I don’t blame DK for saying no more, why would you give any more money for them to spend after 45 million has seemingly been wasted? This whole story about him only signing players with a sell on value is made up rubbish.

I mean that’s just not true. From the horses mouth:

But that’s the same. She’s designing the profile of the players we’re signing.

short term she’s about the long term development of the players. And even then from her words it’s the fitness aspect and sports science aspect

it still doesn’t show she’s responsible for the day to day performances of players or whether Bobby Thomas can pass 10 yards

her involvement won’t be measured for another 5 years
