You are Frank Lampard.

After using your fortune to pay for hair plugs you go to King for some transfer spend but he says it’s all gone on regain for Will King and we have to sell someone to fund your rebuild.

Good news is we’ve had three identical offers of £15m for three of our players.

Who would you sell to fund a rebuild?

(back in reality we’ll probably have to lose one this summer. Who would you rather?)

I’d sell Wright from the list above. Fires on all cylinders far to infrequently for my liking and tbh we kind of got by ok when he was injured.

Equally I think the starting teams a weaker one when Rudoni and MVE are absent. So it’s Wright for me.

Consistently scores goals tho. You’d have to spend probably £6m+ to replace him alone.

Wish one of those players you mention is Sheaf but no way we'd get £15m for him!)

Either Wright or MVE

Wright because whilst there is a player that it's only every few games, that isn't going to ensure we push for a comfortable top 6 finish if we fail to go up this season

MVE because I think he would want to leave to go to the next level anyway and can see him drop his consistency if he doesn't get his way. Loads worse this season too, especially before Xmas and against Plymouth

We cannot sell Rudoni!

Rather gather some funds by selling the likes of BTA, Simms, Eccles. Spend out on 2 or 3 and just be smarter in the free transfer market with the rest.

Ideally I'd want to keep those 3, but there's plenty of deadwood and mediocrity in the squad that I'd look to move on or release such as:-

Collins
Wilson
Dasilva
Bidwell
Binks
Allen (?)
Raphael
Simms
BTA
Lats (?)
Paterson

We have a very decent starting 11 when everyone's fit, but lose 1 or 2 to injury and the quality drops off noticeably, hence why the above list is so comprehensive.

Allen is on the list because he wasn't getting enough game time when fit, so he's taking up a squad place that could be given to someone who pushes the regular starters.
Lats likewise although there's an argument to keep him due to his flexibility.

Simms is there because he's a poor player, I know some will disagree, (probably those who wanted to keep Biamou) but I'm sorry, you need far more from your CF, and Simms is nowhere near good enough. 6 goals in 42 league games is piss poor by any standard.

Sorry in this reality all fringe players got in a mild bus accident on their way to a game against Leamington and won’t be fit until Sept 1st.
Tbh I think the reality is we sell the fringe and one of the above. Could give us a pretty beefy kitty along with the Gyok funds.

As ever, depends on what replacements could be readily available. If Van Ewijk went I wonder whether we could get Max Aarons in on loan.

Wright is probably the most inconsistent of the 3 but on his day is the best. We’d probably still be able to get £15m for him in a year’s time, but he’s had extended spells out injured in both seasons so far. Really tough one but I’d probably go with Wright.

None because it will be Sheaf and the Vik sell on
Guess the counter to that is, if any of above state desire to move, noises about MvE earlier in season, will haji be thinking about World Cup? Wonder if Lampard will now help that, if was still robins would they want out?

ideal world you have one more season with everyone and Lampard putting his spin on it……goals always hardest to replace.

I'd rather sell Sheaf, but I doubt we'd get a lot for him nowadays. Certainly nowhere near the £20M some on here said he was worth.

Sheaf and the Vik sell on is safe money if we also get promoted. Sheaf not PL standard and we also get £90m (from what I gather) to round up to around £100m. Lets hope Mr Austin has a good list

None hopefully. Who depends on the money offered. MVE is technically weak defensively, but athletic going forward and has a good understanding with Tats (at least at home).

Wright is class, but the type of player that drifts in and out of games. Also needs to play off the right sort of number 9, Cyril Regis would have been ideal.

Rudoni is the essential player to keep for me. Creates goals and scores them. Has a good work ethic and prepared to do the dirty work not just the flashy stuff. Links well with Grimes. He has been an upgrade on O'Hare, who in my book was good but over rated by a lot of our fans.

Going forward I see Torp and Sakamoto as useful squad players, neither are consistent enough. They don't just have patchy games, too often they are totally anonymous. But then can look classy in others. We need more consistency.

Also the whole team looks off the pace far too often.

Not Allen who is a useful squad player and cheap, not everyone can start and you need depth that will set an example and not sulk. Lati too, big leader. He wouldn't make my 11 but at the end on Saturday, he stood in front of us, chest pumped out, calling for fans to get their chin up etc. Proper player.

Despite being my favourite of the three by far I think I’d sell Milan. The defence needs serious work anyway, it’s a lot harder to replace the goals and assists.

I’d miss him almost as much as Hamer tho.
The other two offer goals, goals, goals!

Milan would fetch a decent amount and probably could be replaced with a couple million, tops.

15m for a right back would be unbelievable business. So as much as I love MVE, in this scenario it would have to be him.

I hate spelling police, of there their etc but there's two I can't let go, sorry:

Cyrille !

The other one you've not mentioned but my Tourettes makes me get involved is Hutchison.

As you were :)

Where do people Wright goes for the money we'd want? Used to think Prem teams would be looking but on reflection i'm not sure, i think the other 2 are more likely to attract Prem interest. Wright gives me Bundesliga vibes.

Wright, easier to replace.
- We have EMC already on the LW
- Would command biggest Fee
- Could use the money elsewhere due to already having a LW
MvE and Rudi would be so difficult to replace as they are key to how the system works we all say we need a MvE on the left for a reason. Also Rudi is essential to the attacking play and when he’s out the team we certainly miss him.
The thing is with Wright is we can replace Goals, we have 2 STs who have a proven record of scoring goals at this level (granted not been in the best form this season).
I just think if we got 20m for Wright we could sign 2 top CBs, a LB and have money to spare elsewhere. I mean we can survive without him better than the other two as we’ve seen prior

Any ideas as to who is circling round Sheaf?

No premier league sides that for sure

With us having the year option on him his value will still be around the 7-8 million mark

Add the Vik sell on of around 5 -6 million and that's easily enough pocket money to add what we need whilst not losing any of the crown jewels

Burroughs, Howley, Tavares, Tyler all being released also, Allen and Paterson unsure

We Should have around 12 million without selling (bar Sheaf) which in my view is easily enough to get in what we need

Expect to see Bidwell go, same for BTA and the keepers (not Dovin)
