For Permission to let a Coventry City B side form at the Ricoh and play there for free with a future option to buy the lease and stadium for a fixed price?

The logic being we don't know where we are heading with Sisu. Having a B team form to push up the league would at least give us a Plan B.

If things work out we could then either fold the team out of existence or use it as a development team for the kids.

The trust could also agree a price for the Ricoh so that they could either buy the freehold and leasehold in the future or allow another party (even Sisu potentially) the option to acquire Cov b team and the Ricoh at a fixed price.

ACL would need to let the team play for free until it was viable to pay some rent but I'm not sure they would really object. Would they?

Frankly if the trust don't do this then another business might...... And we can't afford that

That is a figure which SISU quoted.. how have you ascertained it is accurate.. bearing in mind that during the rent strike the matchday costs that were actually being paid were £10K per game, or about £230K per season, my reference for this figure is Grendel believe it or not!

If the crowds were 20,000 then it would probably be near this sum.. but lower crowds mean lower costs.. no need to open all stands for instance.. I mean they only open 3 sides of the ground at Sixfields don't they?

ACL haven't denied it. I think that's the point of fishers argument, saying that costs are higher than last season and therefore accusing ACL of claiming stealth rent.

To be honest I can't see how match costs are the same every match. In the summer you don't use floodlights, and undersoil heating is only needed 2-3 month a season. Cleaning bills for low gates e.g arlesley, burton or when only one stand was open.

So far then we've established that the cost is not known, especially for a new non league side with relatively low attendances. If income of £4 (net of VAT) was paid by 3,000 people I think that would be enough to cover a possible charge from ACL, obviously all guesswork though.

A 'Coventry City B side' ... what is that? Who is that?

I don't think it could be a side from ccfc, I am pretty sure that wouldn't wash with sisu.
And if you are thinking 'Coventry Pheoenix or AFC Coventry' then that would be a totally different club - not one connected to The Sky Blue Trust- so not their business.

But of course I must be missing your point.

Two years down the line, CCFC still in Northampton. Bottom division, playing to 750 fans (500 actually paying to get in). No sign of a new stadium.
Wonder what attitudes will be like then?

ACL haven't denied a lot of the crap that SISUE have come out with. If they denied all of the crap they came out with ACL would have to make a comment nearly every time Timothy opened his mouth.

Setting up another side is the way to beat SISU. Don't wait for years in Northampton before doing it.

I'm in agreement with this now.

I still think it should be used as a threat first, basically tell sisu, get your arses back to Coventry by the end of the season, or for 14/15 season we shall be paying to watch our own sky blues.

The majority of fans don't want this for 14/15 season, but no you go ahead and further divide the fanbase. As long as you get your fix.

There isn't going to be a fan base if we let SISU continue.

Also, where is the pride? Since when did people roll over so easily?

Most clubs' fans would not stand for this - that's the saddest part.

I don't go to Sixfields, I also don't call them scabs, selfish, spineless, etc. But the majority of the most vocal supporters of breakaway ccfc are the ones that doe call them names.

For a lot of us it has become a personal issue - us against SISU.

I just want a healthy future for our club, with owners who care about football.

I don't understand the mentality that a few have where they're willing to let SISU carry on. Some nutters even want them to won't he Ricoh - now that is mental.

Would a fans' team in Coventry be considered a breakaway club if its first article of association said something like the following?
"The club will only exist to provide fans of Coventry City (CCFC) with an opportunity to watch association football in Coventry until CCFC returns to Coventry. When CCFC returns to Coventry, the fans' club will wind up its operations at the end of that season and put any residual assets into a trust fund to provide support to the academy of CCFC."

I love that last bit.

This is the spirit in which a breakaway club is intended. It would give us all something that we own and that can be run properly. It doesn't have to last forever - just as long as we need it.

Simple question to answer though (without referring to who said something nasty to someone else)

Do you believe that we as individuals should follow our conscience and do what we individualy believe is right, or should we follow the majority to have a fully united fan base?

Why would people waste so much money on a temporary football club? Who would invest money into something that could be dropped like a stone in month's?
