Wolves v Wigan just kicked off on Sky - 1 minutes silence for rememberance day

QPR v Man City on Sky last night - again 1 minutes silence

They had the poppy on the pitch so why wasn't there one at the Ricoh yesterday?

Cos they assumed the 60 seconds would be filled with chants of Sisu out?

Or maybe because it just sums this club up nicely.

I thought the same thing. I thino every fixture should have had one. Anyone notice if our players uad poppies on their shirts? Most other clubs, especially Prem teams did, but i didnt see if our players had them!

I know the England team arent allowed which is completly wrong imo!

FIFA won't let them, Mickey Quinn was on twitter saying that England should just wear Poppies and pay the fine and that FIFA could fuck off. Guy's still a legend!

That is weird, especially after the big fuss we made of it in recent years... maybe next week?

"The big fuss".........Maybe I've taken that the wrong way but that is a fucking disgusting comment, show some respect for the people who died for your country.

Watch match of the day and the football league show like I did last night, I made sure to look at which teams wore them and which didn't!, in the top two divisions cov, southampton and forest were the only 3 not to wear poppies!

You said we were the only ones in your previous post. Did you forget about Southampton and Forest? ;)

Since when did Remembrance Day become Remembrance Month? It's a dignified occasion that doesn't need every football match leading up to it to mark it, and certainly doesn't need to be used as a crutch to beat the club with.

Look at the story about the England game; what's actually a general ruling in international football has become a 'FIFA hates England!!!' nonsense. I'm sure that's what the wars were really fought for.

Forgot about the break!!

And, yeah... sorry, that sounded like i wasn't welcoming the attention the club has given the Poppy and everything it represents in recent years. No, I do welcome it and if there is nothing this year then it is a disgrace. I am sat here wearing my Poppy and am a firm supporter. Sorry.

I am shocked and appalled that there has been absolutely nothing from the club.

As this is the last game before Remembrance Day some show of respect would have been nice, it's the norm every other year so remove your head from your arse.

What does the last game beforehand have to do with it? It's almost a week away, if you're looking to a frivolous sporting occasion for your show of respect you're in trouble.

Are you a genuine idiot? I'm looking for the club I support to publically show their respect and allow others to do the same. Cheers mate and I am a bloke haha

That's fine, but don't make out it's some kind of appalling disgrace if Remembrance Day isn't marked on the 6th before a league game against Southampton.

So this year the club will do nothing to show their respect for Britain's war dead and has hardly even acknowledged Remembrance Day at all, sorry which bit isn't a disgrace?

AJ.....Really? It's one of the most important and easiest things to do, remembering the people who died for this country, whether it's be buying a poppy personally or standing in a minutes silence at the football to show some respect for these people who did so much for us. I don't believe it's much to ask for us as a club to organise a special poppy embroided kit or at least a few poppy reefs, if you ask me it does nothing for our clubs image to all other clubs fans looking in.

As mentioned, they had the poppy on the pitch before the game, and they may do something around the actual time. There wasn't a silence, that's all. It's surprising, but not cause to froth at the mouth and cry blue murder, unless you really want to.

I get all that, but a lot of the overdone reaction to it seems to be less about the occasion which is what I have an issue with. I suspect people are latching onto what should be a dignified occasion for a rant.

Not frothing at the mouth at all aj but your general ignorance on this matter makes me question your mind set.

The point is we were one of the only clubs in the country to do that and it shows a huge lack of respect. Even Celtic have went against their own fans wishes and finally supported the poppy appeal this year!

Don't worry about me, I'll be marking the occasion without worrying over what others do.

This shows all the PR skill of the Vice Chairman. Since Clarke (the fat one in a suit who disappears before the final whistle) joined the Board the Club's PR has gone from empty to lies, ignorance and totally out of touch with the fans, the city, everyone. He is an insult. A puffed up bag of shite.

It's pretty simple SISU did not allow them to have the finance to make shirts with the poppy on it, as with anything to do with money it doesn't happen when Coventry is concerned.

True enough, been a lot of romanticising of the Armed Forces in the last few years, something that most who serve don't massively appreciate.

All the "Our lads", and "Our brave Boys" stuff all a bit cloying, and Remembrance Sunday often seen as an excuse by idiots to spot who isn't wearing a poppy on tv(or even a football game).

Seem to forget why there is a Remembrance day at all, or what they mostly died for.
