At the end of the day the club is the fans. We are the club. Without fans there is no club.

What I am trying to say is that the council need to see past who the owners are. They have to try and help the city of Coventry's own football club where they can. They don't trust the owners, fine. Then any deal has to be approached with a view to having caveats in place to protect the Ricoh for the people of Coventry.

A deal is there to be done. Surely they can put caveats in place to protect the stadium for future generations of this city.

Sensible answer! I don't disagree with any of that.

I'm just asking whats the reasoning for wanting CCC to help Otium?

To help get their club back into the city? To boost the local economy? To have the Ricoh being used for its primary purpose?

Or this another 'fuck the club, way to go CCC' thread?

I agree with Otis, Bigfatronssba and Astute about the caveats. We need the club back in Covetry....for benefit of club, fans, owners and city.

But we need to protect club and stadium not just against SISU but any future owners.

To be fair, it's just on here. Empty vessels make the most noise.

A dozen or so pro ACL hard liners shout loudest on here. And who knows what their own agenda is? It's an anonymous forum after all.

Where have the 90% of paying fans gone then if only a dozen or so back the council more than the club.

As a percentage, very few fans post on forums. The majority have voted with their feet.

Thing is we don't know what they want for it and we don't know what Sisu will offer?
We have only heard the offer for the Higgs half not the whole business?

So is it over priced or not?

We are just arguing over a speculative price we have all made up in our minds none of us really knows. Its about time we left all this Shit to the powers that hold the cards.

We need to save our fight Join forces for the thing we really care about The Team and Playing in Coventry.

Fuck Sisu fuck CCC this is all beyond a joke and fans trying to score points off one another isn't helping.

We used to sing together lets get that back.

If we were to go back to the Ricoh next season I believe we would struggle to get 10,000, if at Sixfields 1,200 if at a new ground 4,000. Our club is dying and we are arguing over who is to blame.
If we are not back at the Ricoh next season it will be too late for our club we need to come home and then start rebuilding the Fan-base then we can look at strengthening the team, and hopefully start enjoying our football again without all the distractions.

So you are saying that the Pro Sisu hardliners vessel is full :thinking about:

More of we have more then you have shit so we must be right.

What I know is that a majority really don't care who is right and wrong.

The Majority just want COVENTRY BACK HOME......

Sisu, Otium or whoever the Arvo Masterfund are juggling are club in this week are not CCFC !!!
I can't think of one example where CCFC benefit from being owned by Sisu,Otium&Arvo ?

I can agree with this whilst disagreeing with it.

Some try and call you anti CCFC and a CCC lover if you don't agree with their views. The big problem I have is I can't see us getting another stadium built for our club. I see our club as having a massive debt and no means of paying it off so not being able to build one for themselves. Yes our club needs the Ricoh and the Ricoh needs our club. But it could also be our clubs last chance of becoming reasonably successful again so any decision shouldn't be taken lightly.

There's various ways of looking at this.

There is the possibility that CCC think their current strategy is helping CCFC. They may feel that passing the stadium to SISU, whether paid for of free of charge, is a big risk as SISU may 'pull a fast one'.

They may feel they have bailed the club out enough times. They stepped in when the Ricoh project went wrong in the first place, gave the club a 50% stake in ACL and may take the opinion they've done their duty and it is not their fault the club has repeatedly got themselves in a mess.

Of course it may be the case they can't give what SISU want. If SISU do want the Ricoh at below market value, whatever that is, can CCC even offer them that. Would that be an appropriate use of taxpayers money?

So moving on to reasons to help. The economic impact of the club not being here would be the major reason. How much business does having a football team in the city generate? Of course for businesses close to the Ricoh it is great but is that just money displaced from elsewhere in the city? How much money is coming in from outside the city? It's difficult to tell, even if they did do a study due to the complexity. You would suspect that at L1 level and with lower attendances and certainly lower away followings visiting that number is way down but if its still a positive contribution to the city then it should be considered. Councils are in a somewhat unique position where their financial support of any project is not purely down to the return they can generate. It is perfectly acceptable for councils to spend taxpayers money on things that are deemed to be in the cities best interest.

And of course the wishes of the voters / taxpayers. A tricky one as how do you gauge the level of support for the football team? Do you take the number of people from within the city who go to home games or do you look at how many people turn up for a major event? Essentially they have to try and gauge the level of public interest in spending money on the club rather than elsewhere.

Yes don't let anything else cloud your judgement. Also it shows everyone else that you really are the best fan, if you say nothing else matters. You must only care about the club.

To back the council more in this dispute over a club you love. That sort if thought process doesn't happen quickly or easily.

No they aren't. They are merely custodians of the club, and doing a remarkably poor job.

As Nick said it shouldn't happen at all. The lowest point for me personally was Richardson and his wrecking of the club including selling HR. SISU have made things a zillion times worse, but I know they won't be here forever and I will stick with the club and continue my support regardless. Exactly as I did during Richardson's wrecking spree. Whether I like it or not Richardson and SISU are part of the club.

I would never and will never back a totally unconnected third party against Coventry City.

Happens very quickly and easily for some on here. Can't see any geniune fan ever putting a council or a management company first.

The OP of course has said on here that he wouldn't care if the club got relegated.

Loyal supporters eh?

So are the club actually in a dispute with the council
Or SISU
Or the club ( SISU plus CCFC)

I would suggest in relation to your earlier comment, that most people are taking the side the of the council in this dispute due to the behaviour of SISU.

SISU happen to run our club. Most people can see that as taking a stance against SISU.

Most people know lots of people are to blame as in every dispute but you have to look at who is responsible for the largest proportion of blame.

Couldn't give a shit who wins as long as the out come leads to the best for ccfc and we get more of a picture of what's happened.

When he said we should back SISU's actions tactics and that they should not agree the latest rent offer. That decision led us to Northampton costing us 7 million a year and is far more damaging to the club than a cheap rent deal with 80% F&B.

I am sure he did not intend to back SISU over the club but that is the outcome.

It is better for SISU to be in Northampton not CCFC

Who cares who wins as long as City return to the Ricoh. I really couldn't give a flying F if it destroyed SISU, ACL or both in the aftermath. I have absolutely zero interest in any of the players involved in this mess.

That's what we all want, best thing you have said in months !!
But I think the majority of fans have already realised, unlikely to happen with Sisu at the helm.
What have Sisu done that is a benefit to CCFC ????
