Why should CCC help? (3 Viewers)

Yes. Unless you want to re-word your statement.

The council have fuck all to do with the sale of one private business to another, in the same way that the government won't do much about the Astra Zeneca takeover

I think you need to re-read what I said.

I said the council is entitled to an opinion.

Are you saying we live in a dictatorship where all free speech is supressed?

Tell me this, who was the councils preferred bidder for CCFC in 2007?

Thanks, point well and truly made. The council can have an opinion but its value is limited.

The council should not seek to stick its nose into deals between two private companies, excepting where it has a stake in one of those companies. That said, where the council does have a stake in one of the companies, it should use its representation on the company's board to influence decision making, not loan money to the company because it's a local authority.

We are entering the realms of the JR here. Are we all ready to discuss that?

Has the ironic meter gone into overdrive here?

So are you saying that CCC have no right to have an opinion about something that lots of people in Coventry have a big interest in? So much of an interest that CCC got a stadium built for our club.

And then you will tell us that although CCC have no right to have a say, or not even have a thought on who runs CCFC as they don't own any part of the club, CCC should do whatever they can to bring a hedge fund back to the Ricoh, although they have said that they won't go back to renting and SISU never put a penny into the build or own any part of any company with anything to do with the arena.

I know that if anyone had dealt with me with so much contempt as SISU have dealt with CCC I would certainly have a POV. And so would you.

Which takes me back to my original point of why should the council help a privately owned company?

Or why should SISU stick it's nose into deals concerning a private company if CCC shouldn't stick their nose into SISU's?

SISU have done it a lot more than CCC. Look at all the comments that have been made, most of them at least stretching the truth. If you see yourself as unbiased you should also want the same terms for both sides.

Coventry may not be the best city for culture or entertainment, however it was the city I was born in, educated in and grew up in. I certainly do "give a sh#t" about it.

I care about and back the city of Coventry and Coventry City. I care not one jot about some money making company who will do anything to suit their own agenda and aims.

SISU are not Coventry City, the fans are. Please let's not have someone quoting legal terms that SISU are Coventry City.

Is this another of your true facts?

Well about as true as most of your statements on the protest thread. Funny really -- lots of baloney from you and Italia and all that is questioned is the £2.5 million figure.

Hilarious.

Another true fact Grendel?

So show me where I questioned it then? I just stated the facts on how they have dealt with our club and us fans and also why any protests won't get anywhere. So then you come out to take the thread away from topic and make accusations so the subject of SISU wrecking our club can be changed.

Well done again.

Where have I posted something as fact that isn't true?

On this thread? The reference to should councils help private companies. ACL are as James smith and MMM will tell you. Ask them.

You mean they shouldn't help a private company that half belongs to them but they should help a hedge fund and their investors? They shouldn't use taxpayers money for their own property but they should use taxpayers money to pay off all contracts at the arena?

Ah good the Internet connection is up and running again. Visit the protest thread and start to back up your claims with concrete evidence.

If you read what I put you will see I said privately owned companies. Even you accept that ACL isn't a privately owned as you used to call it a quango.

Almost had me there. Lets explore this. MMM constantly says ACL act in the interests of their shareholders. Are you saying therefore that as it has council shareholders its actually acting in the interest of the council? Hope so. You really should get in touch with ML as this is critical to the JR? Glad you think MMM is a bullshitter though.

Really fed up with your snide comments to people who have good intentions and appear to have Coventry City in their hearts, please take a break from this forum for a while at least "a la" psgm1 did.

I get PM's from people who support my stance on here and don't post themseleves because of the inevitable abuse from idiots like you. I post becuase of them -- people who care about the club and actually have a balanced view. Looking at your posting history as with Ron's I see not one about the team.
Why is that?

The fact you don't understand directors responsibilities is understandable. You spend so much time on here spouting crap, that you don't develop your career to a level whereby you might be able pass on your own experiences from the boardroom
