Will Bapaga sits on the bench most games and rarley gets on - will he get a cahnce or not - from what glimpses i have seen of this kid he looks a game changer - If we are down to the bare minmium why isent he getting a chance

He’s young inexperienced and we are in a relegation dog fight

This season is a waste in his development. Robins never plays him and he never plays in the U23s either.

He should have been loaned out to a league two team to get some experience of mens football, it’s pointless him being on the bench if he is never going to get any game time, it’s not likely we are going to have the luxury of being 3 or 4-0 up in a game to throw him on.

He is still very young and jumped from U18s to the first team set up has had a couple of dislocations to his shoulder too so I can understand MR being cautious. Also our forward line is not the best, if we can get a decent lead in a game 3-0 say giving him 10/15 minutes might happen probably should.

Maggers it should have happened yesterday. 3-0 down, Cardiff foot off the gas completly. Absolutely zero pressure on bapaga then, stick him on. The only reason I can think of that he didn't was because we were getting no protection from the ref at all.

You only gain expenice by playing - football down the years is full of players grabbing there chance - Cannot see how players that have been brought on of late like Pask and Da Costa, jobello, Gyökeres have more experience to play in the the championship as most have been playing in the european lower leagues

It will all depend on how Bapaga does in training
If he starts looking comfortable among the senior squad and everyone forgets his age then he'll get a chance
That's how Sam McCullum got his surprise elevation

Gyorkes is a full international and jonello is 27 and da costa 24

I don’t see putting him on yesterday on a lost game against the Cardiff physicality and the referee seemingly oblivious to it as a very wise decision.

the physicality of the SPL was a big help in developing James Madison as he himself had said.
Bapaga isn't getting anywhere sat on the bench.

Give you Gyorkes as he has played in the championship with swansea on loan -The others i would argue have never played anywhere near championship level - It frustrates me such as yesterday we are 3-0 down and you cannot give Bapaga a chance, what hell diffrence would it make -

This season is a waste in his development. Robins never plays him and he never plays in the U23s either.

He's played in over half the U23 games and a couple of academy games and has been left out due to injuries meaning he's required on the bench for the first team, esp since it got expanded due to more subs being allowed.

He's nowhere near ready yet. Ashley Cain looked exciting and direct when he was brought into the first team picture but was never, ever making an actual impact.

He needs a lot more time in the development squad and if/when we start getting some of those players back that's where he'll go.

Exactly. If he's never gonna come off the bench loan him out to another lower league team, toughen him up and give him that experience. He'll learn more being chopped up by L2 cbs than he will shivering on our bench under a blanket
WOW !! we have blankets

can't see any feasible reason he wasn't given 10 or 15 minutes yesterday.
I said exactly the same thing, the game was lost put him on to see what he could do, although with them clogging any player that dared to go past them maybe it was better for him to be safe on the bench

Would normally agree with you Clint, but I'd sooner see him given that time against a Norwich footballing team, than having to watch 15 mins yesterday of Morrison and his cronies maiming him at every opportunity, Not sure how that aids his game. We could easily replicate that by whacking him in the back of the leg with a stick for 15 minutes.

I agree if you are good enough you are old enough and I am as eager as any to see what Bapapa can do at first team level, not sure in our current league position the time is right.

Do we have anyone in the squad who has pace?

Yesterday 6ft 5 kieffer Moore outpaced Jamie Allen. This is shocking

He played Bayliss early, too, so it's not like he won't play the youth.

Definitely shades of Thornton under Adams - his abilities grew the more he didn't play! Whenever Bapaga has come on he's run around aimlessly and looked totally lost, he needs some coaching rather than sending out on loan to do the same and get in bad habits.

Maybe then we'll see him fulfill his promise.

I think the hype has clouded peoples judgement. Its nice to think we've got the next "mbappe" on our hands but he's nowhere near ready for regular first team as robins has said. Just being around the first team squad is valuable experience.

Will Bapaga was 18 only last week. James Maddison made only a handful of appearances for us before he was 18. Bapaga’s time will come but it’s unlikely to be this season. He’s very, very quick though accordingly to my son who was in the same year as him at Bishop Ullathorne.

I'm sure he was very quick compared to other kids at his school but he's now in a professional environment full of very, very quick players. On the bits and pieces I've seen of him it doesn't look like pace is his major strength, but rather his balance and close control seem to me to be his stand out attributes.
